Customer Onboarding Manager

About Halter

At Halter, we’re on a mission to enable farmers and graziers to run the most productive and sustainable operations. Our customers are using Halter to break free from the time-intensive constraints of conventional practices. Imagine watching 500 cattle stand up and walk calmly towards their next break? No quad bikes, no dogs, no fences. Just a group of cattle walking at their own pace. People say it looks like magic. Our customers are revolutionizing grazing with Halter. It's changing lives and transforming an industry. People join Halter to do meaningful work. By joining us you’ll be solving challenging problems within a talented team and a culture built for high performance. Our team out-think, out-work and out-care. We’re committed to delivering real change in the world - this isn’t easy, and in truth, we love that it’s hard.

We’re backed to deliver on a mission that matters by Tier 1 investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, BOND, DCVC, Blackbird, Promus Ventures, Rocket Lab’s Peter Beck and Icehouse ventures.

As the South American Launch Manager, you'll own how Halter lands and grows across the region. This is a builder's role: you're accountable for South America's launch outcomes, and for standing up the team, systems, and playbook that deliver them. You'll start close to the work and scale from there.

Unlike a mature market, you won't sit above the work — at least not at first. Early on you'll be hands-on with producers and deployments yourself, on the estancia and the fazenda, learning what local ganaderos and pecuaristas actually need. As the region grows, you'll hire and develop the team that takes the frontline, and shift your focus to outcomes, quality, and scale. Building that arc is the job.

You'll spend less time in the field than your frontline Launch team, but plan for regular travel across Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil and real time on the ground. This is not a role you can run solely from a desk.

A big part of your success will be how well you work with the global org. You'll adapt Halter's global launch frameworks to the realities of South American ranching, feed what you learn straight back to Product, and you won't be doing it alone: you'll have the backing of launch and customer leaders who have recently stood up new beef markets outside New Zealand, and a global playbook you get to adapt and improve.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Build and own Halter's launch motion across South America

  • Own regional launch outcomes across Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil, with accountability for new deployment ARR as the market grows

  • Establish how Halter launches in the region from the ground up — the playbook, operating rhythm, and standards that every future launch will run on

  • Adapt Halter's global launch frameworks to the realities of South American ranching, while staying aligned with the global operating model so the region can scale

  • Monitor leading indicators of risk and opportunity, and act early to protect customer confidence and outcomes

  • Balance high-touch, hands-on delivery with efficient, repeatable execution as volume grows

Stay close to producers and the field

  • Spend real time on estancias and fazendas, alongside producers, so your decisions are grounded in how they actually run their cattle

  • Get hands-on with deployments and producers directly, especially early, before stepping back as the team grows

  • Carry the voice of the South American producer into every internal conversation

Build and develop the South American Launch team

  • Hire, onboard, and ramp the region's first Launch team in line with growth plans

  • Set clear expectations and drive execution through team routines, coaching, and accountability

  • Plan for the right coverage, capacity, and capability as new deployment ARR grows

  • Create a high-performance culture through ongoing coaching, feedback, and development

  • Champion process consistency, tooling hygiene, and quality standards from day one

Own outcomes and improve launch efficiency as you scale

  • Deliver against regional new deployment ARR goals

  • Track and act on key launch metrics including activation, adoption, time-to-value, and cost-to-serve

  • Identify where time and effort are being spent disproportionately, and redesign execution to cut low-value work

  • Build scalable, repeatable workflows that improve consistency and reduce time-to-value

  • Take ownership of regional launch cost and efficiency without compromising the customer experience

Partner with the global org and Product to build for the region

  • Work closely with Sales to manage handoffs and set clear customer expectations

  • Partner with Rev Ops and Support to keep launches operationally sound across borders

  • Provide structured feedback to Product and Engineering grounded in regional context, trends, and adoption barriers — a key part of how we make Halter work for South America

  • Represent the voice of the South American region in global planning, forecasting, and improvement work

  • Lean on the launch and customer leaders who have recently stood up new beef markets outside New Zealand, and feed your learnings back into the global playbook

  • Whatever else it takes: This is an early-stage market entry. You’ll do what needs doing to make Halter succeed in South America.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience leading and developing teams, ideally in customer onboarding, deployment, delivery, or operations

  • A track record of owning outcomes — commercial, operational, or both — not just executing tasks

  • A builder's mentality: comfortable with ambiguity and energized by standing things up from zero

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (Portuguese is a bonus); comfort across both is a strong advantage given the role spans Argentina, Uruguay, and potentially Brazil

  • A genuine willingness to travel and spend meaningful time in the field

  • Confidence operating independently while staying aligned with a global org

  • Strong cross-functional collaboration: pulling in the right people and keeping everyone aligned across regions and time zones

  • Clear, straightforward communication

  • Good judgment and the ability to adapt when plans change

  • A genuine care for the producers we serve and the quality of the work

  • Agriculture or cattle ranching experience, especially with extensive grazing systems

NICE TO HAVES

  • Experience launching or scaling a new market, region, or 0-to-1 motion

  • Familiarity with the South American beef sector across one or more of Argentina, Uruguay, or Brazil

  • Startup or high-growth environment experience

  • Familiarity with tools like Salesforce, Intercom, Mixpanel, or similar systems

  • Experience working in ag-tech
