Cyber Security Engineer (Security Accreditation)
We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to join our team.
What you'll do:
Contribute to solution architectures by identifying and applying NATO security directives and accreditation requirements.
Provide guidance on physical, procedural, and technical security controls, ensuring clear understanding of their purpose and application.
Conduct security risk assessments for NATO CIS, identifying threats, vulnerabilities, residual risks, and defining mitigation measures.
Assess technical architectures and propose security countermeasures or alternative secure solutions.
Define, scope, prioritise, and document security accreditation requirements across CIS projects.
Prepare and maintain accreditation artefacts, including CIS Descriptions, Security Accreditation Plans, Risk Assessment Reports, Security Requirements Statements, Security Operating Procedures, and Security Test & Verification Plans (STVP).
Witness security testing activities and coordinate remediation actions with Security Accreditation Authorities (SAA).
Provide accreditation guidance and advisory support throughout the full CIS lifecycle, including input to proposals and procurement processes.
Liaise with Security Accreditation Boards, NATO Security Authorities, CIS Operational Authorities, and internal engineering teams.
Ensure continuous alignment with NATO security policies and evolving technical standards.
Represent the organization in security accreditation matters and support knowledge sharing across teams.
What you will need to bring:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or at least 6 years of extensive experience in lieu of a degree.
Minimum 2 years of experience in security accreditation within large-scale CIS projects or complex IT environments.
Experience with security risk assessment methodologies, tools, and frameworks.
Experience in planning, designing, and implementing security controls for CIS systems.
Good knowledge of NATO Security Policy and related directives.
Familiarity with international environments involving both military and civilian stakeholders.
Understanding of NATO structure and responsibilities, including ACO and ACT.
Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
Relevant certifications such as CISA or CISSP are considered an advantage.
Holds, or is eligible to obtain, a NATO Secret security clearance (mandatory).
Availability to work primarily on-site in The Hague, Netherlands, with occasional remote work possible.
