Join Maxis as a Cyber Threat Intelligence Intern and gain hands-on exposure to threat intelligence, security operations, threat hunting, and cybersecurity automation. In this role, you will work alongside cybersecurity professionals to strengthen threat detection capabilities, enhance security operations, and support intelligence-driven defence strategies across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Threat Intelligence Automation: Assist in developing and enhancing automation processes that collect, enrich, and operationalise threat intelligence to improve security monitoring and response capabilities.
Security Tool Integration & Enhancement: Support the integration and optimisation of security technologies, helping ensure threat intelligence is effectively leveraged across security platforms and workflows.
Proactive Threat Hunting Support: Assist cybersecurity teams in conducting proactive threat hunting activities to identify suspicious behaviour, emerging threats, and potential security risks within the environment.
Detection Rule Improvement & Development: Support the creation, testing, and refinement of detection rules and use cases to improve threat visibility and reduce false positives across security monitoring platforms.
Threat Response Playbook Enhancement: Contribute to the development and improvement of threat response playbooks and operational procedures to strengthen incident response readiness and consistency.
Value-Added Project
The intern will have the opportunity to contribute to a strategic initiative focused on integrating threat intelligence with security operations. This project aims to enable continuous threat hunting, automated detection enrichment, and intelligence-driven response across multiple security platforms, providing valuable exposure to modern cybersecurity operations and automation practices.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Education: Currently pursuing or holding a Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related disciplines.
Cybersecurity Knowledge: Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts, threat intelligence, cyber threats, and Security Operations Centre (SOC) environments.
Security Tools Exposure: Familiarity with security technologies such as SIEM, EDR/XDR, threat intelligence platforms, or other security monitoring tools is an advantage.
Scripting Skills: Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell is preferred to support automation and data analysis tasks.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyse information, investigate security-related issues, and identify potential solutions.
Communication & Collaboration: Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

Internship Duration
Internship opportunities available for candidates who can start in July, with a duration of up to 6 months.
