About the Role

This is an important role within Waldom Electronics, working closely with our IT and technology teams to protect our systems, networks, and data. As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will support the implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of our cybersecurity infrastructure while helping to identify, assess, and respond to security risks and incidents.

You will play a key role in maintaining a secure operating environment, ensuring compliance with security policies, and promoting cybersecurity awareness throughout the organization. This position combines hands-on technical work with cross-functional collaboration, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both operational security and continuous improvement.



What You'll Do

  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of cybersecurity tools and infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, endpoint protection solutions, and antivirus software
  • Monitor security systems for alerts, anomalies, and potential threats, responding to incidents in a timely and effective manner
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, scans, and support penetration testing activities to identify and address security weaknesses
  • Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures across the organization
  • Investigate security events and assist with incident response, remediation, and root cause analysis
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on cybersecurity best practices and secure technology usage
  • Participate in security awareness initiatives and training programs across the business
  • Maintain accurate documentation of security configurations, incidents, procedures, and controls
  • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, technologies, and industry best practices
  • Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to ensure security is embedded into systems, applications, and processes
  • Support cloud security initiatives across AWS and Azure environments
  • Assist in improving security monitoring, reporting, and compliance activities



What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 1–3 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, or IT support with a security focus
  • Experience working with security technologies such as SIEM platforms, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions, and vulnerability management tools
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security principles
  • Knowledge of security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response processes
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, standards, and best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess and prioritize security risks
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality work



We'd Love It If You

  • Have experience with cloud security technologies and best practices in AWS and Azure environments
  • Have knowledge of scripting or automation tools such as Python or PowerShell
  • Hold or are working toward cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CySA+, SSCP, or similar
  • Have experience supporting compliance, governance, or security audit activities
  • Enjoy educating others and promoting a strong security culture throughout the organization
  • Are proactive in identifying opportunities to improve processes, controls, and overall security posture
