D365 Implementation Specialist (Order to Cash)

Overview

D365 Implementation Specialist — Order to Cash

Milton Keynes, UK (Hybrid)

UK Work Authorisation Required — Visa Sponsorship Not Available

You've been on ERP implementations where the OTC workstream looked deceptively simple on paper — and then pricing logic, trade agreements, and EDI transaction volume turned it into something else entirely. You know the difference between a sales order that flows cleanly and one that's going to create downstream problems in AR and GL before anyone notices. And you know that getting multi-country OTC right in D365 means understanding that Europe isn't one market — it's many, each with its own tax scheme, e-invoicing requirement, and commercial structure.

If that's the environment where you do your best work, WD-40 Company has a role worth your attention.

The Role

WD-40 Company is mid-way through a global Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O rollout — UK, Europe, LatAm, APAC. Europe is the next major implementation on the horizon and the most complex: one warehouse supporting multiple countries, meaningfully different VAT schemes, e-invoicing mandates across markets, and OTC processes that have to flex across direct, broker, distributor, and concentrate supply models.

WD-40's global ERP implementation team is growing. This role brings dedicated OTC technical expertise to the UK, working alongside a Finance Implementation Specialist and partnering with the OTC Business Process Lead as the programme scales into its most complex implementation yet — Europe. You're joining a team that's already delivering globally, at the point where the work gets most interesting.

As OTC Implementation Specialist, you own the technical workstream for order-to-cash. You'll work alongside the OTC Business Process Lead as a genuine peer — they own the process design, you own the D365 configuration that delivers it. Same manager, complementary lanes, shared accountability for the solution.

You'll be involved in active rollouts immediately, while building toward the major European implementation beginning in 2027. You'll also provide configuration support and escalation coverage for markets already live — so the work is genuinely global from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Own the D365 F&O OTC technical workstream — configuration, design, and technical validation — for UK and European implementations. You're a delivery owner, not a support function.
  • Partner with the OTC Business Process Lead as a true peer. They bring the process expertise and commercial understanding; you bring the system architecture. You co-create the solution.
  • Lead fit-gap analysis and technical design sessions — identifying where D365 standard functionality meets the business requirement and where it doesn't, and making the right call on configuration vs. customisation vs. scope challenge.
  • Configure OTC modules in D365 F&O: sales order management, pricing engines, trade agreement journals, price groups, rebate management, customer and vendor portals, AR, and related integrations.
  • Get deep into WD-40's pricing and trade agreement complexity — this is the most commercially sensitive area of the OTC workstream and requires genuine D365 pricing configuration experience, not familiarity with the concept.
  • Own technical validation and defect resolution within the OTC workstream through SIT and UAT phases, working alongside the BPL who owns process-side test script design and business scenario validation.
  • Navigate OTC localisation across European markets: VAT treatment, e-invoicing requirements (PEPPOL and country-specific formats), cross-border pricing, and country-specific trade structures. These are not edge cases; they are core to the EU implementation.
  • Work effectively in an EDI-heavy transaction environment — 80% of WD-40's order volume flows through EDI. You don't need to design EDI architecture, but you must understand how EDI transaction flows interact with OTC configuration in D365.
  • Collaborate with the enterprise architect on end-to-end design and integration standards.
  • Support hypercare post go-live through the stabilisation period, then move to the next market.
  • Contribute to agile planning cycles. Keep your workstream documented, visible, and on track.

Qualifications

  • Deep, hands-on D365 F&O OTC implementation experience — configuration ownership, not project participation. 5 years is the floor; 7+ is what we're targeting.
  • Proven D365 pricing configuration depth: trade agreement journals, price groups, multi-tier discount structures, rebate management, and deduction handling. WD-40's pricing is its most complex OTC area — candidates without this specific experience will struggle from day one.
  • Multi-country or European OTC implementation experience — you understand that VAT schemes, e-invoicing mandates, and trade structures differ meaningfully across EU markets and you've designed D365 OTC configuration to reflect that.
  • Awareness of how 3PL, 3PM, and broker/distributor supply models affect OTC process design and D365 configuration — WD-40's supply chain runs through external partners and the OTC workstream must reflect that reality.
  • EDI fluency in a B2B OTC context. Not as an EDI developer, but as someone who has configured OTC processes where EDI is the dominant order channel and understands how it shapes configuration decisions.
  • Comfortable holding the technical lane in a peer partnership with a Business Process Lead — you can own configuration decisions without overreaching into process design.
  • Awareness of OTC-Finance boundaries in D365: AR posting, revenue recognition, intercompany billing, and where OTC configuration creates downstream consequences in GL.
  • Strong documentation and communication habits — commercial and operations stakeholders need to trust your configuration decisions; your BPL partner needs to understand what you've built.
  • Experience with Microsoft implementation methodology and agile delivery practices.
  • CPG or distribution industry background is a genuine advantage — you'll immediately understand the volume, cadence, and commercial dynamics of WD-40's sales environment.
