Data Center Technician
YOU will work with state of the art computing and networking equipment to ensure uptime and perform regular basic repair services. You will learn our network technologies and adapt to evolving systems. You will stay current with emerging technologies. You will troubleshoot and diagnose issues with mining equipment to maximize uptime. You will perform routine maintenance under supervision, ensuring the facility remains available and safe. You will operate data center equipment and miner tools, and perform related tasks as directed.
Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize all critical data center systems, including power distribution units, UPS systems, cooling infrastructure, backup generators, and fire suppression systems to ensure continuous mining operations.
- Carry out basic miner repairs and maintenance, flash firmware on miners, and handle associated miner tools and equipment.
- Perform general facility duties as assigned.
- Support preventative maintenance schedules, performing regular inspections, cleaning, and necessary repairs on all data center equipment to prevent unplanned downtime.
- Quickly identify and troubleshoot infrastructure and miner issues, coordinating with multiple teams to resolve technical problems and restore service with minimal disruption to mining activities.
- Monitor and contribute to detailed performance reports, including metrics such as uptime, power usage, and environmental conditions, to assist with decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 1-3+ years of experience in IT/computer hardware, systems/electrical engineering, network administration, and/or troubleshooting.
- Bitcoin mining experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in English is required.
- Basic understanding of IP addressing, subnets, and small electronics or low-voltage electrical systems is a plus.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex technical issues related to power, cooling, and network systems.
- Familiarity with data center best practices, standards, and maintenance procedures.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to react quickly to critical incidents.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Must pass a motor vehicle check.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from the designated work site.
- Physical stamina to stand for 7+ hours per day.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
