Data Classification, Standards & Definitions Partner

We are seeking a skilled Data Classification, Standards & Definitions Partner to join our Global Workforce Data Standards team. This role is critical to establishing and maintaining consistent, high-quality data assets across our global Workday implementation. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, driving data standardization initiatives while ensuring compliance and enabling our Data Foundation strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Data Standards & Governance
- Translate business decisions into usable, consistent data assets across the organization
- Document and maintain approved data definitions and data quality (DQ) rules
- Maintain comprehensive data catalog, glossary, lineage documentation, and standardized definitions
- Ensure data consistency and traceability across all systems and processes
Data Classification & Management
- Lead data classification initiatives to categorize and organize enterprise data assets
- Classify data according to sensitivity, regulatory requirements, and business criticality
- Manage data sharing agreements and ensure appropriate access controls
- Serve as key point of contact for domain-specific data knowledge and expertise
Workday Data Analysis & Optimization
- Investigate root causes of data issues across Workday systems (beyond detection to resolution)
- Analyze local Workday rules, validations, and configurations that impact global standardization efforts
- Identify where local configurations create barriers to cloning or implementing global standards
- Distinguish between legitimate legal/compliance constraints and legacy or preference-based rules
Data Foundation Enablement
- Enable data initiatives for the Data Foundation and serve as key subject matter expert within assigned scope
- Support AI and analytics initiatives through proper data classification and standardization
- Collaborate with Data Foundation team to ensure data readiness for advanced analytics and AI applications
Training & Knowledge Management
- Train and support Local Data Champions across regions and business units
- Build comprehensive knowledge content on data management for AI applications and employee self-service
- Develop training materials and documentation to support data literacy initiatives
- Facilitate knowledge transfer and best practice sharing across the organization
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience in data management, data governance, or business analysis roles
- Proven experience with Workday HCM/Financial systems and configuration management
- Experience with data classification, metadata management, and data quality initiatives
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of Workday architecture, configurations, and data structures
- Experience with data governance tools and methodologies
- Knowledge of data lineage, data cataloging, and metadata management practices
- Familiarity with data quality assessment and remediation techniques
- Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (GDPR, data privacy, etc.)

- Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders
- Project management capabilities with experience leading cross-functional initiatives
- Change management skills and ability to influence without direct authority
- Global mindset with understanding of regional compliance and business requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Workday certification in HCM, Financial Management, or related modules
- Experience with data governance frameworks (DAMA-DMBOK, DCAM, etc.)
- Knowledge of AI/ML data requirements and data preparation processes
- Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or highly regulated industries
- Multilingual capabilities to support global operations

The salary range for this position is :€49.600,00 - €74.400,00Final compensation will be determined based on demonstrated experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
