HYBRID Qualified candidates must live within a 180-mile radius of a hub location listed below and should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of our hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities

State Farm is seeking a highly motivated Data Engineer to help build and evolve data solutions that support business continuity, resiliency, and recovery readiness across the enterprise. Working closely with software engineers, recovery coordinators, and business partners, the ideal candidate will design and deliver scalable data pipelines, integrations, and reusable data products that improve visibility, enable informed decision-making, and strengthen a growing enterprise data ecosystem.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Experience designing, building, and supporting scalable data pipelines, integrations, and enterprise data solutions.
  • Proficiency with key data engineering technologies such as Python and SQL, along with modern database/platform technologies.
  • Experience with data modeling, data quality, data governance, and secure data practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot distributed systems and understand dependencies across applications, data, and infrastructure.
  • Strong collaboration skills—able to work effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, reusable outcomes.

Additional Experience That May Be Beneficial

  • Experience with graph databases, knowledge graphs, or relationship-based data modeling.
  • Experience with container platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift), Infrastructure as Code, or cloud automation.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, APIs, enterprise integrations, or workflow orchestration.
  • Experience with observability, resiliency, disaster recovery, or business continuity solutions.
  • Experience with real-time data processing, AI-enabled solutions, or modern data platforms.


Our Benefits

Because work-life balance is a priority at State Farm, compensation is based on our standard 38:45-hour work week!

  • Potential starting salary range: $90,000 - $120,000
    • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
    • High end of the range limited to applicants with significant relevant experience
  • Potential yearly incentive pay up to 15% of base salary
