Description:

The Data Entry Specialist position provides the opportunity to join a team of public servants dedicated to defending the integrity of our elections and making the democratic process even more accessible to the people of Jefferson County. The ideal candidate will be a values-driven professional with a desire to set the bar for great election administration. The ideal candidate must be innovative, voter-focused, relentlessly detail-oriented, and have the proven ability to move between diverse tasks with ease. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two months of full-time experience with Colorado’s statewide voter registration database (SCORE) and the ability to research complex issues and correspond with voters regarding same. The ideal candidate will have experience training temporary election workers in the two months leading up to any election.

Compensation:

Hiring Range: $15.00 - $23.00 USD Hourly

Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills. Additional compensation for Spanish bilingual skills is available.

This is a temporary, non-benefitted position.

Schedule: This position requires in-office work.

Essential Duties:

- Adding, updating, and maintaining the voter registration data in the statewide electronic voter registration database (SCORE), including verifying documents and data entry for accuracy, proofing previous data entries, and creating batches.

- Providing customer support to voters who receive undeliverable ballot notifications, troubleshooting issues to ensure addresses are updated and ballots received, and maintaining records related to same;

- Providing excellent customer service to the public either in-person, by phone, or via email;

- Acquiring a comprehensive understanding of the entire elections process in order to respond to voter inquiries to ensure that all voter registration discrepancies get resolved;

- Preparing and proofing state-mandated correspondence with voters to ensure accurate communications;

- Testing and piloting updated correspondence databases and processes to streamline voter letters and emails;

- Conducting research related to addresses not found in SCORE and working with voters to resolve such issues;

- Coordinating with elections workers in other counties to solve complex voter registration issues;

- Developing training materials and assisting with training of temporary election workers;

- Assisting the county and Secretary of State’s offices in identifying bugs, testing, and improving the statewide voter registration database;

- Developing and maintaining spreadsheets for daily audits and related duties as assigned.

Minimal Qualifications:

· Experience with Colorado’s statewide voter registration database (SCORE)

· Education: High School Diploma or GED

· Or an equivalent combination of education & experience.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

· Strong customer service

· Ability to articulate clearly and effectively to varying levels of customers

· Experience with Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365

· Strong time management and prioritization skills.

· High attention to detail when proofreading/correcting written reports and data entry.

· Prior experience working with Jefferson County Elections within the past year

Additional Job Information:

· Offer of employment contingent upon successful completion of criminal history, motor vehicle report, education verification, and/or references.
