The Data Governance Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data governance frameworks to ensure the accuracy, security, and proper use of an organization's data assets. The role is pivotal in establishing data management policies and procedures that safeguard data integrity, support compliance with regulatory requirements, and enhance data\-driven decision\-making across the organization. The Data Governance Specialist collaborates closely with data owners, business leaders, and IT teams to ensure a consistent and compliant approach to data handling and usage.

      • Create standardized metadata definitions and\nstructures for key data assets.

      • Provide visibility into the flow of data across\nsystems and processes.

      • Ensure metadata repositories are accessible and\nused effectively by business and technical teams.

        Data Quality Management<\/b>

        • Define metrics and benchmarks to measure and\nmonitor data quality across the organization.<\/span>

        • Identify and remediate data quality issues,\nincluding inaccuracies, inconsistencies, and redundancies.

        • Implement data cleansing and enrichment\nprocesses to improve data accuracy.
          <\/li>
        • Collaborate with business units to establish\ndata validation rules and controls.

        • Provide ongoing training and support to promote\na culture of data quality awareness.

          Data Security and Privacy Management<\/b>

          • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to\nimplement data protection mechanisms.

          • Identify and manage risks related to data\nbreaches or unauthorized access.

          • Ensure data encryption, masking, and\nanonymization practices are in place where appropriate.

          • Regularly assess and test data security controls\nto ensure their effectiveness.

          • Lead initiatives to enhance privacy practices,\nincluding consent management and user access rights.

            Data Stewardship and Ownership<\/b>

              QUALIFICATIONS<\/b>

              • Minimum<\/b>:\n Bachelor's degree in Risk, Business, Finance, IT or related field.
                <\/li>
              • Preferred<\/b>:\n Certified Data Management professional
                <\/li><\/ul>

                <\/div>

                EXPERIENCE<\/b>
                <\/p>

                • Minimum<\/b>: 3 to 5 years\nof experience in a Data Management or Data Governance capacity
                  <\/span><\/li>
                • Excellent communication and presentation skills
                  <\/span><\/li>
                • Strong analytical skills with creative and flexible approach\nto problems solving
                  <\/span><\/li>
                • Ability to produce high quality documentations
                  <\/span><\/li>
                • Preferred<\/b>: 3+ years\u2019 experience in the Financial,\nBanking or FinTech industry in a risk management or data management role
                  <\/span><\/li>
                • Experienced cloud practitioner and exposure to AWS cloud\nenvironment
                  <\/span><\/li>
                • Experience using data governance tools ex. Atlan, Ataccama,\nCalibra, Amazon DataZone etc.
                  <\/span><\/li>
                • Proficiency in SQL/PostgreSQL/Redshift and/or\nPython<\/span><\/span><\/span>
