Data Management Fellow

The Data and Tech team at Vocal Media is seeking a part-time fellow to provide technical and data support to our social media programs. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or early-career professional in database administration, data analytics, or data engineering to gain hands-on experience in building and maintaining data infrastructure and tools that will help us run successful social media campaigns.

This fellowship is 10-20 hours per week. Applicants must be based in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Airtable databases to a high standard of data cleanliness and accuracy;
  • Track incoming support requests and collaborate with team members across Vocal departments to support a wide variety of data needs and deliver solutions;
  • Create and maintain scripts to automate data entry and ingestion;
  • Implement quality assurance protocols to ensure accuracy of data and technical products;
  • Assist with cleaning, preparing, and exploring data to support client reports and internal and external dashboards.
  • Qualifications & Experience

    Required
  • Data and technical literacy, including an understanding of the importance of good data architecture and hygiene;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment;
  • Willingness to learn about database management, data analytics, and/or data engineering;
  • Enthusiasm for progressive causes and willingness to support social media programs on behalf of progressive candidates and organizations.
  • Preferred
  • User experience with Airtable or similar no-code database tools or CRMs such as Google Sheets, Excel, Salesforce, or NGPVAN;
  • Experience working with political campaigns or social media marketing.
