Data Scientist

We are seeking an internal candidate for an advanced Core Data Science role with a strong focus on Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Statistical Modeling. This role will be instrumental in developing intelligent, scalable, and data-driven solutions that enhance critical business functions such as claims processing, underwriting, customer servicing, risk assessment, and decision automation.

The ideal candidate should possess strong foundations in machine learning algorithms, statistical analysis, predictive modeling, deep learning techniques, and data engineering. Hands-on experience in building end-to-end AI/ML pipelines, feature engineering, model optimization, experimentation, and deploying scalable production-grade machine learning solutions will be highly valued.

  • Expected to work in close collaboration with the Client team and EXL team on establishing relationship with stakeholders, identify new opportunities, areas of growth
  • Develop long-lasting, trusted advisor relationships with clients
  • Analyze structured and unstructured data from a number of drivers in the interest of solving specific questions/problems with processes in the various functional areas
  • Ensure Industry best practices are followed, Communicate and follow up with delivery team
  • Brainstorming on pain areas/Identifying reasons for issues/Issue Resolution, diagnosis of inefficiencies in the current process and figuring out ways to resolve it
  • Facilitate client working sessions and lead recurring project status meetings
  • A typical work day will involve working with stakeholders as individual contributor.
  • Bachelor’s/Master's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science/engineering or related Analytics areas
  • 3+ years of experience in Advanced Analytics/Predictive Modeling.
  • Must have experience in managing clients directly
  • Experience in HR Analytics is a plus
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Should be able to work on a problem independently and prepare client ready deliverables.
  • Complete understanding and demonstrated experience of Python and various modeling techniques
  • Experience in advanced analytics / Machine learning / statistical / data mining / Text mining techniques
  • Experience in developing and deploying Machine Learning models (Regression, Classification, tree based algorithms, clustering and Natural Language Processing).
  • Extensive experience with Python packages for data analysis (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, statsmodels, matplotlib, seaborn)
  • Effective at building SQL queries
  • Use of visualization in Python using matplotlib or PowerPoint/Excel
  • Experience in Time series, Network or Graph analysis, Large Language models/Transformers/chatbots is good to have
  • Experience with cloud computing and cloud based tools like Databricks is good to have
  • Follow industry best practices for Python coding and model development and deployment
  • Strong record of achievement, solid analytical ability, and an entrepreneurial hands-on approach to work
  • Strong ability to distill technical findings and share insights
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work in fast pace continuously evolving environment and ready to take up uphill challenges
  • Is able to understand cross cultural differences and can work with clients across the globe
