The Opportunity
We are seeking vibrant and committed hospitality professionals to join our Deco Lounge team. As a Food & Beverage Expert, you will play a key role in delivering warm, personalised service across breakfast, all-day lounge dining, and beverage experiences. You will be responsible for hosting and engaging with guests, taking food and beverage orders, delivering service with confidence and care, and sharing your knowledge of our menu offerings to create memorable guest experiences. You will also support the opening and closing of the outlet and ensure accurate billing to conclude each service seamlessly.
Key Accountabilities
- Deliver seamless, personalised guest experiences across Front Desk and Service Experience functions
- Manage guest arrivals and departures, including check-ins, check-outs, room allocations, and billing
- Handle guest enquiries via phone with professionalism, warmth, and efficiency
- Take reservations when required, ensuring accuracy and a personalised approach
- Coordinate guest requests and liaise with internal departments to ensure an effortless stay
- Anticipate guest needs, confidently upsell rooms and hotel experiences, and maximise revenue opportunities
- Resolve guest concerns with discretion, empathy, and a solutions-focused approach
- Bring the story of the hotel and Hobart to life through engaging, thoughtful guest interactions
- Maintain accuracy in administrative tasks, including payments and room key management
- Uphold the highest standards of service excellence in every interaction
Profile
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar Food & Beverage role within a hospitality environment
- Genuine interest in and knowledge of coffee, tea, cocktails, wine, and food
- Experience in sequence of service and premium dining or lounge service delivery
- Experience using POS ordering systems
- Passion for creating engaging guest experiences through product knowledge and personalised service
- Strong work ethic with a commitment to exceptional guest service
- Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Valid Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
- Full working rights in Australia
- Availability to work a rotating roster across early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
