Delivery Driver
Department: Emporium Pies - Fulfillment
Reports to: Delivery Manager
Location: Distribution Center
FLSA Status: Full-time, hourly, non-exempt
Job Summary
The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely operating the company vehicles (under 10,000 lbs. GVWR) to transport and deliver products, supplies, and materials to customers, shops, and designated delivery points. This role ensures timely, accurate, and professional deliveries while providing excellent customer service and maintaining company vehicles and delivery standards.
Daily Responsibilities and Tasks
- Safely operate a company vehicle while following all traffic laws and company safety guidelines
- Complete scheduled delivery routes efficiently and accurately
- Load, unload, and secure products, supplies, and materials for transport
- Verify delivery contents, quantities, and customer information prior to departure and upon delivery
- Provide professional and courteous interactions with customers and delivery contacts
- Obtain required delivery confirmations, signatures, or documentation as needed
- Inspect vehicle before and after routes and report any maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle
- Communicate delivery updates, delays, or issues with appropriate team members
- Follow all company policies related to safety, customer service, and vehicle operation
- Assist with warehouse, inventory, or operational tasks as needed
Job Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to safely operate a delivery van or other company vehicles under 10,000 lbs. GVWR
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable attendance
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned routes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow delivery instructions
- Professional communication and customer service skills
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move products throughout the workday
Required Education, Certification, or Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous delivery, driving, logistics, warehouse, or customer service experience is preferred
- Experience operating delivery vans, cargo vans or similar vehicles is preferred
- Ability to use navigation tools, delivery apps, or basic technology systems
Physical Requirements and Schedule
- Ability to sit and operate a vehicle for extended periods
- Ability to frequently enter and exit a cargo van
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull packages/materials up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach as needed during deliveries
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
- Ability to safely handle and maneuver items during loading and unloading
- Work Environment: This position primarily involves driving routes, making deliveries, and performing physical tasks associated with loading and unloading materials. The role require working independently and managing multiple deliveries throughout the day.
Compensation and Benefits
- Hourly wage: $18–$22, based on experience
- After 6 months of employment, accrue PTO up to 80 hours per year
