The Demi Chef provides the consistent delivery of top-tier food quality. He/she assists in managing the cold section of the kitchen and ensures that all outlet operations run smoothly. This includes preparing and cooking high-quality dishes, coordinating with other kitchen staff, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Our Expectations:
- Prepare and cook dishes according to standardized recipes and quality for all Cold outlets in the culinary department (Breakfast Buffet/Brunch/Banquets/Club Lounge)
- Maintain the cold kitchen ensuring all items are prepared accurately and on time for each service.
- Set up and maintain mise en place for the cold section throughout the shift, replenishing as necessary.
- Work closely with senior chefs to coordinate production timing and support overall service efficiency.
- Ensure food is served at the correct temperature and adheres to presentation guidelines and plating standards.
- Monitor quality of ingredients used and highlight any discrepancies or issues to the senior chefs.
- Follow proper storage, labelling, and rotation procedures to minimize waste and maintain freshness of all ingredients.
- Assist with inventory control by tracking stock levels in the assigned section and notifying supervisors of replenishment needs.
- Adhere strictly to food safety and sanitation standards, keeping the work area clean, hygienic, and organized at all times.
- Participate in daily cleaning routines and deep-cleaning tasks as per the kitchen schedule.
- Support kitchen operations by performing additional tasks as needed, including assisting in other sections when required.
- Collaborate with front-of-house Associates to accommodate guest dietary requirements or special requests, and incorporate feedback when needed.
- Maintains high personal hygiene, dress, uniform, and body language standards, representing the hotel professionally in all situations.
- Complies with all relevant Workplace Safety & Health practices and maintains a safe workplace for all associates.
- Ensures that the Hotel’s properties and facilities are protected and are kept in good working condition. Reports any loss or damage to the Hotel’s properties and facilities promptly and appropriately.
- Carries out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
