Department Overview

This role reports into the North America Video Security & Access Control (VS&A) Sales organization. Motorola Solution’s Video & Access Control Division (VS&A) is defining the future of the security industry through innovative end-to-end solutions and award-winning AI-based surveillance systems. Artificial Intelligence is transforming the world, and our team is advancing the field as it applies to the surveillance industry. Our video and access solutions have been installed in more than 120 countries at thousands of customer sites, including school campuses, transportation systems, healthcare centers, public venues, critical infrastructure, prisons, factories, casinos, airports, financial institutions, government facilities, and retailers.


Job Description

We are seeking an entry-level Demo Site Engineer to assist in maintaining and optimizing the Allen, TX demo site and connected Experience Centers. This role is vital to ensuring the continued improvement of our demo site and helping to enable the development of innovative demonstration scenarios allowing the sales team and partners to demonstrate our best in class video and access control solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine system maintenance, server firmware updates, and hardware cleanups, including installing new panels, troubleshooting and resolving issues, and configuring hardware and software.

  • Request Management: Act as the dedicated "gatekeeper" for incoming sales team requests, establishing a formal, structured workflow to prioritize tasks and reduce scope creep caused by ad-hoc disruptions.

  • Documentation: Manage, maintain, and update comprehensive infrastructure documentation and demo suite topology maps.

  • Sales Support: Receive incoming requests, participate in prioritization and refinement then plan out upgrades and improvements of the demo site.

  • Video Integration: Assist in encoding and integrating automated, value-based video demonstrations to empower the sales team to show the value of the entire suite of Motorola products.

  • Scenario Assistance: Help the site manager build and maintain interactive demonstration scenarios, such as forced door simulations, mustering stations, and environments simulating increased badge read activity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; OR 1+ years of experience in a technical role, Security / Low voltage industry experience a plus.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records and manage request queues.

  • A process-driven mindset with the ability to take initiative and shift away from reactive habits toward structured, proactive management.

  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident).

Work Environment / Physical Requirements

  • Ability to climb ladders and lift equipment up to 50 lbs. for the set-up of demonstrations and testing.

  • Willingness to work hands-on with server racks, cameras, access control panels, and cabling.

  • Ability to work in outdoor environments

Target Base Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a technical field OR 1+ years of experience in a technical facing Security / Low voltage role
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
