As a Department Assistant within the School of STEM, you will provide high-level administrative support to academic leadership, including a disciplinary program administrator, the Director of the School of STEM, and the Dean of the College of Nursing, Health Professions and STEM. This highly collaborative, on-site position offers the opportunity to work closely with a wide range of faculty, staff, students, and external partners while helping ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the School and its programs.
Key responsibilities include coordinating meetings, events, travel arrangements, and operational activities; serving as a primary point of contact for a wide variety of stakeholders; preparing and maintaining records and communications; and developing efficient systems for managing electronic and physical information. The successful candidate will exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to a welcoming and well-organized academic environment.

Key Job Responsibilities:
- Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves problems regarding technical systems and programs related to department operations
- Coordinates projects and program components including, scheduling and logistics, unit workflow, and identifies areas for process improvements
- Develops, implements, and maintains methods and organizational systems directed at the maintenance of electronic/physical records related to department operations according to established policies and procedures
- Serves as a primary point of contact for the department
- May provide operational guidance and training on day-to-day activities of student workers and program staff
- Monitors the department, unit or program budget and expenses, and may assist in the development of program budget and projections

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Google Suite and Adobe Suite software programs
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in state policies governing General Program Revenue funds
Previous experience with UW Oshkosh institutional processes for purchasing, travel and vendor payments
Previous experience in managing grant applications
