DEPUTY CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER - DIGITAL SERVICES & TECHNOLOGY OFFICE
[What the role is]
This is a 2-year contract position as a Deputy Chief Information Officer in the Digital Services & Technology Office.You will co-lead the institution’s digital, data and AI transformation agenda. Working closely with the CIO, you will drive strategic initiatives that leverage emerging technologies, data, and artificial intelligence to deliver impactful, secure, and future-ready services across the Polytechnic.
You will play a key role in shaping enterprise technology direction, advancing data-driven decision-making, and strengthening NP’s position within the broader POLITE and public sector digital ecosystem. As a member of a vibrant academic ecosystem, you will have opportunities to translate and share your knowledge and skills with learners through academic programs conducted by the Polytechnic.
[What you will be working on]
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Co-develop and drive NP’s Digital, Data and AI strategy, scaling AI, analytics and automation to support institutional priorities. Lead enterprise data platforms and governance and identify high-value use cases across academic and corporate domains.
Drive the modernization of enterprise systems through cloud, low-code and platform-based architectures. Ensure applications align with target enterprise architecture and interoperability standards, while harmonizing systems across NP to reduce duplication and improve user experience.
Lead the development and implementation of Responsible AI governance frameworks covering risk, ethics and compliance. Strengthen the integration of AI with cybersecurity and data protection strategies, and ensure alignment with public sector policies such as IM8, PSGA and AI governance frameworks.
Partner senior management to shape technology-enabled transformation and strategic direction. Represent NP in POLITE, MOE and GovTech platforms on digital, data and AI matters, while building partnerships with industry leaders and AI ecosystem players.
Build and lead multidisciplinary teams across data engineering, AI/ML, digital platforms and cybersecurity. Develop internal AI and data capabilities through upskilling and talent pipelines, while mentoring senior staff and grooming future technology leaders.
Oversee program delivery, performance and service reliability to support NP’s operational needs. Manage resource allocation and the vendor ecosystem effectively, while driving continuous improvement and innovation across IT services.
[What we are looking for]
At least 15 years of experience in ICT, with significant leadership exposure in digital transformation, data, or AI domains
Proven track record in driving enterprise-scale data or AI initiatives
Experience working in public sector or managing complex stakeholder environments
Strong understanding of:
Data platforms, analytics, and AI/ML ecosystems
Cloud architectures and modern application development
Cybersecurity and data protection principles
Familiarity with Responsible AI and governance frameworks
Strategic thinker with ability to translate vision into execution
Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills
Experience building and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams
Forward-looking with strong interest in emerging technologies
Collaborative mindset with strong organisational awareness
Excellent communication and presentation skills
