Swaniti Initiative is an ecosystem builder working toward a sustainable future in a climate constrained world. It has a strong legacy of working in South Asia on supporting Parliamentarians and sub\-national governments on designing and delivering interventions that respond to the climate crisis. Swaniti Initiative is now expanding its footprint in Indonesia and working on energy transition efforts.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Swaniti Initiative is undertaking a comprehensive technical support programme focused on supporting the economic diversification of mining communities in Indonesia. Additionally, we are working on pathways in mobilizing public funds most efficiently in large scale energy initiatives. And looking to support the private sector in decarbonization efforts. Our work aims to support the government of Indonesia in finding economic pathways on energy transition. It involves conducting comprehensive research, skills assessments, aspiration analysis, and demographic studies to inform key policymakers and support a just transition in these regions.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

As our work grows, we are hoping to onboard a senior climate specialist who can lead our work in country and support in fulfilling Swaniti\u2019s vision.<\/span><\/span><\/span>

About the Role<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/h2>
The Deputy Country Lead \u2013 Indonesia will support the Country\nLead in advancing the organization\u2019s work on energy transition and related\nsectors, including power, industrial decarbonization, and blue carbon\ninitiatives.<\/span>

This role is designed to ensure high\-quality program delivery, coordination,\nand technical support, translating strategic priorities into effective\nimplementation on the ground.<\/span>

The Deputy Country Lead works closely with the Country Lead and plays a\ncritical role in ensuring that programs are executed efficiently, partnerships\nare well\-managed, and outputs meet high standards of quality.<\/span>

Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/span>

1. Program Execution & Delivery<\/span>

  • Translate strategic priorities set by the Country Lead into clear workplans,\ntimelines, and deliverables<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Coordinate implementation of ongoing programs across stakeholders and\npartners<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Monitor progress, identify implementation challenges, and propose solutions\nfor review<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Ensure timely and high\-quality delivery of outputs<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/li>
  • Ensure alignment with monitoring frameworks and impact targets<\/span>

    2. Technical & Analytical Support<\/span>
    <\/span><\/div>
    • Provide technical inputs on energy transition\-related topics<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Support development of policy briefs, analytical reports, and background\nmaterials<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/li>
    • Ensure outputs are aligned with program objectives and reviewed internally<\/span>
      <\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul>

      3. Stakeholder Coordination<\/span>

      • Support engagement with government, private sector, and development partners<\/span>
        <\/span><\/span><\/li>
      • Prepare briefing materials, meeting notes, and follow\-ups<\/span>
        <\/span><\/span><\/li>
      • Participate in stakeholder discussions in a supporting capacity<\/span>
        <\/span><\/span><\/li><\/ul>

        • Coordinate workshops, roundtables, and discussions<\/span>

          5. Monitoring, Evaluation & Impact Tracking<\/span>

          • Track progress against outputs, outcomes, and KPIs<\/span>
            <\/span><\/span><\/li>
          • Support design of impact measurement approaches<\/span>
            <\/span><\/span><\/li>
          • Compile data into reports and insights<\/span>
            <\/span><\/span><\/li>
          • Identify gaps and provide evidence\-based recommendations<\/span>

            6. Internal Coordination & Operations<\/span>

            • Support team coordination and workflow management<\/span>

              Requirements<\/h3>

              Qualifications & Experience<\/span><\/span>

              • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in energy, climate,\nor public policy<\/span>
                <\/span><\/span><\/li>
              • Experience in program implementation and monitoring & evaluation<\/span>
                <\/span><\/span><\/li>
              • Familiarity with Indonesia\u2019s policy landscape<\/span>
                <\/span><\/span><\/li>
              • Strong analytical and writing skills<\/span>
                <\/span><\/span><\/li>
              • Ability to manage multiple workstreams<\/span>

                  The Candidate should be based in Jakarta, Indonesia and will require travel within Indonesia to support\nprogram implementation and stakeholder engagement.<\/span>
