The Position

Deputy Manager Technical Support (Sanitaryware South Asia)

Job Summary

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities:

  • Support in defining and delivering technical support/services to customers, production units, and minerals development projects for sanitaryware applications

  • Render technical services (e.g. complaints, troubleshooting, value in use demonstration, energy saving, market technical survey etc) to sanitaryware (+other) customers/prospects.

  • Collaborate, define and help execute the technical support for customers, production units, and development projects for South Asia (primarily India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka).

  • As part of the techno commercial team, support sales in defining value creation model/s for customers via product application uniqueness, new product development OR overall application specificity ( e.g re-formulation).

    • The role actively supports the sales team in the value selling concept, such that customers can count on perceived value of Imerys offer, rather than just price of product.

    • Simply put, support sales for solution selling in the Sanitaryware (+other) industry.

  • Travel within South Asia to meet customers (at times, customer senior managers. MD, CEO etc) and support selling technical advancement in Sanitaryware (+other) from Imerys.

  • Lead self and collaborate within India & other global technical staff/ engineers and sales staff.

  • Support managing development projects (in collaboration with sales & global/regional teams)

Project Management:

  • To be an active South Asia Ceramics commercial team member, visiting customers when necessary (Traveling 30-50%).

  • Coordinate with the sales/marketing team on customer technical support. Support tradeshow and sales development (as & when)

  • To provide laboratory support in carrying out ceramic application work in accordance with priorities and time scales

  • To deliver raw materials and application knowledge to support the company’s existing business and to grow the business according to the global strategic plan/s.

  • Be in charge of his/her new product development pipe in collaboration with the marketing/sales/production team.

  • Provide technical expertise on minerals and applications to support development projects.

  • Interpret and report the findings of technical work and communicate at the required levels.

  • To provide technical knowledge on kiln furniture applications, support sales and sanitaryware customers

  • Understand customer challenges and pain points and be proactive in devising solutions.

  • To ensure safe working practices are followed in accordance with company policy.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Diploma in Engineering OR Bachelor in Engineering (qualification in materials science, Mechanical, industrial minerals, refractories, ceramics or ceramics-related science)

  • Preferred > 08 yrs experience in Sanitaryware manufacturing OR Technical Support role.The years of experience can be >05 years for exceptionally talented people.
