We are hiring for a Design Manager to join our team in Cork.
Key Responsibilities as Design Manager will include :
- Liaising with all consultants and design team members in managing design coordination, progression and integrity of information in line with project targets
- Communicate all developed information to the construction team in a timely fashion ensuring information is both delivered and clearly understood
- Establish trusting and respectful relationships with the design team.
- Manage the technical submittal process effectively
- Review VE opportunities to make budget or time improvements
- Highly diligent and efficient in tracking dates and commitments across all disciplines to ensure slippage is mitigated across the spectrum.
- Managing the flow of information between all entities within the process and having the confidence to apply pressure where needed to attain results.
- Active role into BCaR requirements, Safety file compilation, O&M manuals and overall project information development.
- Manage the RFI register, Design Responsibility Matrix (DRM’s), Key Information schedules and all other control forms and measures pertaining to the design function.
- Lead design meetings and actively participate in client, procurement and internal meetings to ensure all information is shared, disseminated and understood.
- Ensure all information is available for the completion of the project
Qualifications/Experience:
- Degree i(or equivalent) in Architecture, Design or Construction Management.
- 5 plus years’ experience – ideally within a main/specialist contractor.
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the construction industry and project execution.
- Diligent, methodical, well organised individual with meticulous focus on deliverables and integrity of information.
- Excellent communication skills – spoken and written. Fluency in English is required.
- Team player with ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
