Designer- Civil & Structure - Substation

WSP ME team has ambitions to significantly expand our energy team. We have a range of roles available to suit people at all points of their career and development. We are seeking Drafting expert responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, layouts, and plans for Power/HV Sub- stations/Generation/Desalination/Wind/Solar Power Plants projects. The role involves working closely with engineers and project teams to convert design concepts into accurate drawings and construction-ready documents.

The incumbent would be a key team player with strong technical expertise who will be working on exciting projects.

Role relating to Draftsman – Civil & Structural for Power, Water, Renewables, and Transmission & Distribution projects.

This includes (but not limited to):

• Prepare 2D/3D drawings using software like AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or Revit.

• Develop detailed engineering drawings, including plans, elevations, cross-sections, and layouts.

• Interpret design specifications, sketches, and calculations from engineers.

• Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, codes, and project requirements.

• Assist in quantity take-offs and material estimation from drawings.

• Maintain proper documentation and version control of drawings.

• Coordinate with site teams to update as-built drawings.

• Ensure timely delivery of drafts as per project schedules.

• Making and maintaining appropriate commitments to project teams and coordinating design activities with multi-disciplined project team members.

• Actively Collaborate with WSP ME office on project activities.

• Engage in training sessions and meetings dedicated to addressing targeted organizational initiatives.

• Willingness to visit client offices/project sites in ME as and when required.

• Diploma or ITI in Civil Engineering / Draftsmanship
  (B.Tech/B.E. candidates may also be considered depending on role level)

• Preferably familiar with ME projects.

• Experience in Power, Water and Renewable e.g. solar, wind and BESS projects is preferred.

• Hands on Experience on software tools like Auto CAD, Civil 3D, Revit are required

• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

BGV:

• Employment with WSP India is subject to the successful completion of a background verification (“BGV”) check conducted by a third-party agency appointed by WSP India.
