Position Summary

Gruve is hiring an on-site engineer to plan, test, and deploy OS and software patches across Windows-based devices and connected instruments at our client Pune facility. This is a regulated, engineering-led environment where careful testing and change control matter as much as the patching itself. Daily on-site presence is required, with occasional after-hours maintenance windows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, test, and deploy OS/software patches and security updates to Windows devices and instruments.
  • Prioritize patches by risk and severity (CVE/CVSS); maintain compliance against SLAs.
  • Test before production rollout and execute rollback plans to protect critical systems.
  • Coordinate maintenance windows with Client's IT and instrument owners; work within change-control processes.
  • Troubleshoot patch failures and maintain accurate device/patch inventory and documentation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors in computer science /IT/Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years in IT/Engineering with hands-on Windows OS and Software Patch-Management experience.
  • Strong with current and legacy/embedded Windows (10/11, Server, Win 7, Win 10 IoT).
  • Familiarity with patch tools (SCCM/MECM, WSUS, Intune; Ivanti/Tanium/BigFix a plus) and vulnerability management.
  • Comfort working alongside engineering/lab environments; change-management awareness.
  • Excellent written and oral communication; professional, client-facing demeanor.
  • Able to work on-site in Pune full-time.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience patching lab/diagnostic/medical devices; regulated-environment exposure (GxP, 21 CFR Part 11); PowerShell scripting.
