DevOps Engineer / Senior DevOps Engineer (IGT1)
About the role:
WorkWave Team is looking for a talented and motivated Senior DevOps Engineer / DevOps Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning of our deployment process and optimizing our infrastructure while collaborating closely with senior engineers to automate recurring tasks. Our teams are a mix of technologists, product managers, software engineers, QA Engineers, TechOps, and DevOps, all working together to deliver our vision. Key Responsibilities
- Triage, investigate, and resolve DevOps tickets within defined SLAs to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Identify recurring ticket patterns and propose automated solutions to systematically reduce ticket volume and streamline workflows.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure fast, reliable software delivery.
- Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including runbooks, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and internal knowledge base articles.
- Utilize configuration management tools such as Chef to automate the provisioning and configuration of servers and applications.
- Monitor AWS resources and application performance using appropriate tools and implement necessary optimizations.
- Actively participate in code and task peer reviews with Senior DevOps engineers to ensure alignment with best practices.
- Assist senior team members on infrastructure project tasks, deployments, and AWS cloud optimizations as capacity allows.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 2– 4 years of experience in a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Systems Operations role.
- Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools, such as TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, GitHub, or GitHub Actions.
- Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux systems administration.
- Basic scripting skills in languages like PowerShell, Python, or Bash to automate routine tasks.
- Solid working knowledge in AWS services (such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and IAM), with secondary exposure or foundational knowledge of Azure.
- Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Chef.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer would be an added advantage.
- Having a basic understanding or exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring or observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Alloy, or CloudWatch) would be a distinct added advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a collaborative mindset suited for Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
