Role Overview<\/span><\/b> The DGM\u2013 Finance is\nresponsible for the end\-to\-end financial management and operational integrity\nof CanKids KidsCan across all regions and states. This role ensures financial\noperations are efficient, compliant, and aligned with the organization's\nprogrammatic goals. The DGM \u2013 Finance serves as the operational finance leader,\ntranslating CFO strategy into executed plans while supervising the Accounts\nteam and multi\-state finance staff for accurate, timely, and compliant\nfinancial output.<\/span> Key Responsibilities<\/span><\/b> A. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>Overall Finance & Accounts Management<\/span><\/b> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Assist team\nin day\-to\-day accounting and finance operations of the organization across all\nregions and states.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Ensure\ntimely closure of books of accounts on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Supervise\naccounting entries with regards to Donor Accounting and Assist CFO for\nfinancial documentation across HO and state offices.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Ensure\nproper implementation of accounting standards, internal controls, and financial\nSOPs.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Monitor\nfund flow, utilisation, and budget adherence for all projects and programs.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Prepare\nand present monthly Budget vs Actual variance reports to the CFO with\ncorrective recommendations.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Manage\nand review quarterly forecasts and rolling cash flow projections.<\/span> <\/span> B. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>Donor Reporting & Grant Financial Compliance<\/span><\/b> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Preparation\nand review of donor\-wise financial reports, utilisation certificates, fund\nstatements, and budget vs actual reports.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Ensure\ncompliance with donor agreements, approved budgets, and donor\-specific\nfinancial guidelines.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Coordinate\nwith program teams and state finance staff for timely collection and\nvalidation of supporting documents.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Review\ngrant expenditures to ensure allowability, allocability, and proper coding\nagainst approved budget heads.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Coordinate\nwith Head Planning and provide financial inputs for new donor applications and\nrenewals.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Review\nproject\-wise burn rates, donor commitments, and budget monitoring monthly.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Maintain\nproject\-wise and donor\-wise fund accounting in line with each grant agreement<\/span> <\/span> C. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>Statutory Audit / Internal Audit / Compliance/Donor\nAudit<\/span><\/b> <\/span><\/b> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Assist in\nand manage annual statutory audit, donor audits, and internal audits of the\norganization.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Ensure\ntimely preparation and submission of audit schedules, ledgers, reconciliations,\nand supporting documents.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Track\nclosure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions within\nstipulated timelines.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Oversee\ncompliance with FCRA regulations, CSR guidelines, Income Tax Act (Sections 12A,\n80G), and FEMA as applicable.<\/span> <\/span> D. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/b>Team Leadership & Capacity Building<\/span><\/b> <\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Guide the\nfinance and accounts team at Head Office and regional/state levels in\nco\-ordination with GM Accounts<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Build\ncapacity of finance staff on accounting systems, donor compliance, and\nstatutory processes through regular training.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Ensure\nstandardization and process discipline across all finance functions \u2013 HO and\nstates.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Ensure\nadequate redundancy in critical finance processes \u2013 no single point of failure\nin any function.<\/span> Required\nQualifications and Skills<\/span><\/b> Education:<\/span><\/b> M. CoM / MBA / CA Inter<\/span> Essential<\/span><\/b> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Semi\-\nQualified Chartered Accountant (CA) from ICAI; OR MBA (Finance) from a\nrecognized institution.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Minimum 6\nyears of progressive experience in finance department in NGO Sector.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>At least\n4 years in a senior finance role within an NGO or development organization.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Working\nknowledge of FCRA, CSR compliance, and donor fund accounting frameworks.<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Proficiency\nin Tally ERP (or equivalent), advanced MS Excel, and MIS reporting tools.<\/span> <\/span> Preferred<\/span><\/b> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Experience\nworking with institutional donors (bilateral, multilateral, corporate CSR).<\/span> \u2022 <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Familiarity\nwith multi\-state operations and field finance management.<\/span> \u2022
