The North Florida/ South Georgia VA Healthcare System's Diagnostic Imaging Service is seeking is seeking an experienced and dynamic Diagnostic Radiology Technologist- Computed Tomography. Explain procedures to patients so that patients understand what is to be done as well as what hazards, if any, are possible. Perform computerized tomography of the head, neck, spine, chest and body with and without the use of contrast materials. Performs a spectrum advanced imaging examinations. Including biopsies, abscess drainages, ablations, cardiac angiography, brain perfusions, and virtual colonography. Performs routine radiology studies to the same high-standards that are required for CT. Possess specific knowledge of cross sectional human anatomy and its application in spiral, and/or, multi-slice computed tomography. Performs peripheral and visceral CT Angiography of the neurological, cardiovascular, abdominal systems and extremities. Ensure that the relationships with management, co-workers, students, patients and others within the organization are consistently courteous, respectful, cooperative in nature, and overall contributes positively to the effective operations of Diagnostic Imaging. Records CT scan radiation doses, contrast amounts, intravenous (IV) placements and documents this information in Vista, and CPRS for Radiologist to dictate in the patient's report. Performs team leader duties. Technologist at this grade level will work toward creating and presenting educational in-services to teach new techniques, procedures, instructions to operate new equipment; provide re-fresher information on procedures, patient safety or any information relevant to our field. Travel may be required within NF/SG Diagnostic Imaging Service for training purposes or help with technologist shortages either on a volunteer basis or a rotation among all CT technologist. Technologist will assist in the transporting of patients, via wheel chair, stretcher, or with walking assistance when appropriate, to different locations throughout the hospital and medical centers. Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
