Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Dietitian, you will be a central figure in establishing medical nutrition therapy standards and delivering direct patient care within a healthcare system recognized as a top hospital by U.S. News & World Report. Every day, you will expertly counsel patients and caregivers, develop and implement nutritional care plans, meticulously document interventions, and monitor diet orders. You will also actively participate in quality assurance, educate staff and the community, and leverage the Virginia Mason Production System to optimize patient outcomes. This position will cover University Village Regional Medical Center and Clinical Nutrition in Seattle.To be successful in this role, you will combine robust clinical nutrition expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a steadfast commitment to continuous quality improvement and patient safety. Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree and Registered Dietitian status (RD / RDN) from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Commission on Dietetic Registration - Washington State Certification - Specialty board certifications as needed per area & assignment
  • Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, and behavioral sciences
  • An understanding of therapeutic nutrition
  • A working knowledge of safety and sanitation practices for food science
  • Counseling skills, the ability to negotiate, work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment and strong math skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills

Preferred

  • A Master's Degree
  • Two (2) years of experience in an acute care hospital; OR an advanced degree plus one (1) year of acute care experience and one (1) year of outpatient experience
