Digital Tools & Configuration Developer

At Vertiv, we’re on a mission to empower the people that will power the future. From a simple swipe to life-changing medicines, from push notifications to generative AI. We design, manufacture, and service the products and solutions that keep the world connected. With $6.9 billion in sales, a strong customer base and global reach spanning nearly 70 countries, we are uniquely positioned to deliver greater value to our customers and create new opportunities for our people.

We are looking for a motivated Digital Tools & Configuration Developer to join our EMEA Technology Application and Market Development team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a background in software, IT, or engineering who enjoys solving practical business problems through technology.

You will help build and improve the digital tools our teams use to configure, price, and quote products — from internal engineering tools to customer-facing configurators. You don’t need to be an expert in CPQ software on day one; if you’re comfortable working with logic, rules, and structured data, and you enjoy bridging the gap between business and technology, we’d love to hear from you.

This role sits within a supportive international team and offers structured mentoring, hands-on learning, and clear career progression.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Support the design, build, and maintenance of product configurators and digital tools used across our sales and engineering processes.
  • Work with product, engineering, and IT teams to turn business requirements into working solutions — translating real-world complexity into clear configuration logic.
  • Help manage updates to pricing and configuration rules, ensuring they are correctly reflected in our systems.
  • Assist with testing, validation, and release of new configurator features and engineering tools.
  • Support day-to-day administration of our quoting and configuration applications, including connections to ERP and CRM systems.
  • Contribute to documenting processes, functional specifications, and configuration logic for internal stakeholders.
  • Help develop or enhance web-based tools that automate sales and engineering activities.
  • Track tasks, flag risks, and report progress to the team and management as needed.
  • Participate in architecture and solution review sessions alongside experienced colleagues.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

Education

  • A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
  • We welcome applications from recent graduates and career changers with relevant technical skills.

Technical Skills — Essentials

  • Comfortable working with logic, rules, or structured data (e.g. spreadsheet formulas, scripting, or rule-based systems).
  • Some experience with a programming or scripting language — JavaScript, Python, Java, or similar (even from study or personal projects).
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read and translate business requirements into a structured technical format.

Technical Skills — Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Exposure to CPQ platforms such as Tacton, Configure One, Oracle CPQ, or similar — but this can be learned on the job.
  • Experience with web-based applications or enterprise systems (ERP, CRM).
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Smartsheet, AppSheet, or Power BI.
  • Interest in or experience with 3D product visualisation tools.

Languages & Environment

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Experience working in an international or multicultural setting is a plus.

WHO YOU ARE

  • A natural problem-solver who enjoys figuring out how things work and making them work better.
  • Someone who communicates clearly and enjoys collaborating across teams.
  • Organised and reliable, with good attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working across different priorities and willing to ask questions when needed.
  • Curious and eager to grow — you’re not expected to know everything on day one.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Structured onboarding and mentoring to help you get up to speed with our tools and processes.
  • The chance to work with modern digital configuration and engineering platforms.
  • A collaborative, international team environment.
  • Real opportunities for professional development and career progression.

If you meet most — but not all — of the criteria above, we still encourage you to apply. We value potential and attitude as much as existing expertise.

If YOU are the person we are looking for, feel free to apply and let's start drafting your future career in a healthy and growing environment!
