Responsibilities / Tasks
As a member of the Technical Software Tools team, the candidate will be placed within GEA’s Engineering Department and will be required to:
- Actively contribute to process redesign.
- Provide cross-functional support to introduce innovation and digital solutions.
- Support and enable data management and process improvement activities, including user training.
- Monitor the performance of digital solutions currently in use and propose continuous improvements.
- Design and develop digital applications and dashboards aligned with business needs.
- Ensure scalability of solutions according to business and functional needs.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization and digitalization.
- The role will play a key part in the ongoing ERP transformation, contributing to the analysis, restructuring, and optimization of business data and processes.
- Participate in weekly team activities.
- Ensure alignment with quality, safety, and cybersecurity standards.
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of relational database design principles (data modeling, normalization, performance optimization).
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server (querying, data extraction, data manipulation).
- Solid knowledge of data analysis techniques, with the ability to work on complex datasets and support data-driven decision-making.
- Experience in data analysis activities within complex system environments (ERP systems such as SAP is a plus).
- Familiarity with programming/scripting languages (Python preferred) for data processing, automation, and analysis.
- Good understanding of data flows and data architecture in industrial or engineering environments.
Soft skills/Other requirements
- Availability to travel and participate in workshops with international teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and cross-functional environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Your Profile / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in roles related to process improvement, data analysis, or digital solutions implementation.
- Experience working in industrial or engineering environments is considered a strong plus.
- Proven ability to analyze business processes and translate needs into digital solutions.
- Experience working with data in complex environments, preferably involving ERP systems (e.g. SAP).
- Ability to work independently, taking ownership of activities and driving results.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical mindset, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
The position falls under the Italian National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Metalworking Industry, with job classification and level to be defined based on the candidate’s experience and skills (B1 level).
The indicative gross annual salary range for this role is between €38,000 and €42,000, depending on experience, technical expertise, level of autonomy, and market alignment.
The overall compensation package may also include variable components and additional company benefits, which will be discussed during the selection process.
