The Director, Business Systems - Biometrics, will partner with Biometrics colleagues (Biostatistics, Statistical Programming, and Data Management), and technical teams to define requirements and deliver system, workflow, and data/reporting improvements that support clinical development and post‑marketing commitments. This role translates scientific and operational needs into clear functional specifications, supports validated system change through the full lifecycle (design, build, test, release), and enables compliant, efficient use of analytics platforms and clinical data standards.

This is a hybrid role typically requiring on-site presence at least 3 days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of business and functional requirements for Biometrics platforms and workflows (e.g., statistical programming, clinical reporting, data visualization, and data review). Take ownership of the requirements’ lifecycle to include technology upgrades and maintenance
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across Biometrics and IT to drive performance, scalability and continuous improvement of SAS and Posit Connect environments running on Linux, including job execution patterns, access/permissions, and operational support processes
  • Partner with Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) to shape and prioritize incoming demand, define business value, and establish scope, assumptions, and success criteria
  • Lead and execute the development of Tableau analytics and visualization capabilities, defining reporting standards and driving adoption across Biometrics and business partners across the organization
  • Develop and maintain Python-based utilities and analysis of enablement tools (as appropriate), while driving standards for scalability, reproducibility and long-term maintainability of Biometrics computing environment
  • Establish and enforce version control and collaboration standards using Git/GitHub (branching strategies, pull requests, code review conventions, and documentation), ensuring consistency across Biometrics workflows
  • Lead the definition of current-state and future-state processes, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for automation and standardization resulting in faster and improved workflows
  • Ensure end-to-end alignment from initial concept through delivery and adoption, maintaining continuity between business intent and system implementation
  • Responsible for development of key delivery artifacts (user stories, use cases, functional specifications, acceptance criteria, workflow diagrams, and requirements for traceability matrices) to support scalable execution of workflows
  • Lead and execute testing strategy and activities (ie develop test cases, facilitate UAT, and triage defects) and oversee validated change control where required (e.g., GxP/21 CFR Part 11 considerations)
  • Lead internal and external collaborations to evaluate solution options, manage enhancements, and ensure successful delivery
  • Lead release planning and change management activities, ensuring effective communication and adoption, timely development of training materials, and post‑release monitoring; oversee issues identification and drive continuous improvement
  • Serve as key partner to the Senior Director of Statistical Programing, leading high-impact initiatives and driving execution across priority workstreams

Required Qualifications and Technical Proficiencies:

  • Hands-on experience supporting SAS and Posit tools, including package manager, running on Linux in an enterprise setting
  • Hands-on experience with Tableau (or similar) for analytics/visualization requirements and delivery
  • Hands-on experience implementing AI tools in a statistical programming environment
  • Working proficiency with Python and R for scripting/automation and/or data workflows
  • Proficiency with Git and GitHub for version control and team collaboration
  • Strong requirements, elicitation and documentation skills; ability to translate stakeholder needs into actionable user stories/specifications
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies (Agile/Scrum and/or Waterfall) and testing/UAT practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence Biometrics, Clinical, and IT teams

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS or equivalent practical experience
  • 10+ years of experience with Business Systems supporting enterprise or analytics platforms, including senior-level ownership of cross-functional initiatives
  • Multiple years of experience supporting a commercial biotech (or pharmaceutical) company in a regulated environment

The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this headquarters-based position is $191,100 - $253,000; the pay ultimately offered may vary based on legitimate considerations, including geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education.
