Basic Function

SB Energy is seeking a highly strategic and operationally focused Director, Data Center OFCI Logistics Programs to architect and lead the logistics delivery model supporting deployment of mission-critical OFCI equipment across a growing portfolio of AI factory and advanced data center infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, this role will establish the systems, governance frameworks, logistics operating procedures, compliance programs, and visibility platforms required to support portfolio-wide equipment movement from supplier factories to project sites, temporary storage facilities, and commissioning readiness.

The Director will provide functional leadership and operational direction to site-based OFCI logistics engineers embedded within project organizations while maintaining responsibility for enterprise logistics standards, import compliance, logistics systems, asset visibility, equipment preservation requirements, and deployment readiness processes.

This role will oversee logistics program development across supplier factories, freight providers, customs brokers, onsite distributors, temporary storage facilities, and project sites while ensuring alignment between manufacturing schedules, construction sequencing, commissioning requirements, and operational readiness objectives.

The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in global logistics, import/export compliance, infrastructure deployment, digital supply chain systems, program management, and mission-critical infrastructure execution.

Responsibilities

Logistics Strategy & Program Leadership

  • Develop and implement the enterprise logistics operating model supporting AI factory and data center deployment programs.
  • Establish logistics governance, standards, processes, performance metrics, and risk management practices across OFCI deployment activities.
  • Create standardized logistics playbooks covering transportation, storage, receiving, inspection, asset tracking, preservation, commissioning readiness, and equipment turnover.
  • Provide functional leadership to site-based OFCI logistics teams supporting active construction projects.

Logistics Systems & Visibility

  • Lead the development and administration of logistics systems, dashboards, and reporting tools that provide end-to-end visibility into manufacturing, shipping, customs, delivery, storage, and site readiness milestones.
  • Establish logistics data governance standards and partner with supply chain and systems teams to integrate logistics data into enterprise reporting platforms.

Factory-to-Site Logistics Management

  • Develop processes that ensure visibility into supplier manufacturing, production, shipping, and delivery milestones.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, OEMs, freight providers, customs brokers, and project teams to support critical equipment movement and deployment schedules.
  • Identify logistics risks and implement mitigation strategies related to transportation, customs, supplier delays, and supply chain disruptions.

Import Compliance & Trade Management

  • Establish and oversee import compliance and customs governance programs supporting global sourcing activities.
  • Manage standards for trade compliance, customs documentation, tariff considerations, and country-of-origin reporting.
  • Monitor evolving trade regulations and geopolitical risks that may impact project schedules and costs.

Warehouse, Inventory & Material Management

  • Develop operational frameworks for warehouse, storage, and material management activities supporting major deployment sites.
  • Oversee inventory control, asset tracking, material distribution, and temporary storage strategies to ensure deployment continuity.
  • Establish inventory visibility and reporting standards across warehouse and storage operations.

Equipment Receiving & Preservation

  • Establish standards for equipment receiving, inspection, preservation, damage reporting, and warranty compliance.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and project teams to maintain manufacturer warranty requirements during storage and staging.
  • Lead audit, reporting, and corrective action processes for damaged or non-conforming equipment.

Site Deployment Support

  • Support project teams with logistics planning, equipment sequencing, staging strategies, and commissioning readiness activities.
  • Drive consistent execution across deployment sites through standardized processes, reporting, training, and operational reviews.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Construction Management, International Trade, Business, or related field required
  • 12+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain operations, infrastructure deployment, global trade, or mission-critical construction environments
  • Demonstrated experience developing enterprise logistics programs, governance frameworks, and operating models
  • Strong experience with global transportation, customs compliance, import/export regulations, and trade management
  • Experience implementing logistics management systems, asset tracking platforms, dashboards, or supply chain visibility tools
  • Experience supporting large-scale data center, energy, industrial, semiconductor, manufacturing, or mission-critical infrastructure programs
  • Strong understanding of equipment receiving, preservation, warranty compliance, and commissioning readiness requirements
  • Experience managing 3PL providers, distributors, customs brokers, freight forwarders, or warehouse operations
  • Proven ability to lead matrixed organizations and influence project teams without direct reporting authority
  • Strong executive communication, program management, and organizational leadership capabilities
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to supplier factories, logistics hubs, warehouses, and project sites

Location: San Francisco Bay Area, San Diego, CA, or Denver, CO. Hybrid.

Remote locations within the United States will also be considered on a case by case basis.

Base Pay - $190,000 - $220,000

The pay range mentioned above is a guideline. We tailor each offer based on your unique skills, experience, location, and market benchmarks—while ensuring internal parity across our teams. In addition to competitive base pay, total compensation may include a discretionary annual bonus and a market leading comprehensive health and wellness benefits package.
