About the Role
FTI Consulting is looking for a talented economics practitioner at the Director level (6 – 9 years’ experience) to join our Economics and Financial Consulting team. The main focus of the role is to support the growth of our business in the Government and Business Economics practice areas.
This role will be an integral part of a fast-growing national practice and provide you with the opportunity to work with a wide range of professionals across all areas of the FTI Consulting business in Australia and internationally.
You will be a contributor to business development activities, client relationship management and project delivery. Your professional development will be enhanced through internal and external training, on-the-job coaching and senior mentoring.
What You’ll Do
Assist and/or prepare the delivery of client reports and analysis through independent analysis and teamwork
Contribute to various projects to ensure that client needs are met within specified timelines and budget
Actively participate/support in business development focused on State Government and select industry verticals including climate, mining and resources, transport, water, construction & energy
Prepare project budgets and proposals for prospective clients
Cultivate strong relationships with prospective and existing clients
Maintain up-to-date client and internal resource records via FTI Consulting’s financial systems
Stay up to date with developments in Australia’s policy and business environment
How You’ll Grow
Work in small cohesive project teams, and become closely involved with pitches and often have direct access to key decision makers, both internal and external
Work closely with team leaders and senior members of the team to execute current project deliverables, brainstorm ideas to solve complex problems and provide general advice around our systems and processes
Gather experience at the frontlines of economic analysis and the policy debate
Draw upon regular technical training sessions to enhance your professional development, including via our e-learning facilities
Interact with key stakeholders in the national and international economy
Collaborate across segments and across the national and international network of experts within the company
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or related disciplines. Post-graduate qualifications in economics or a related discipline would be highly regarded
Demonstrated 6 - 9+ years of professional work experience, preferably in a consulting environment
Ideally you will have a sound working knowledge of AASB S2 and IFRS S2 climate-related financial disclosure reporting (regulatory requirements, modelling, measurement and assessment)
Knowledge and experience in ESG and sustainability reviews and reporting (risk analysis, scenario modelling, financial impact assessments), and Climate Finance.
Previous exposure to ESG Credit Scorecards (financial institution ESG criteria and assessment)
Current or previous experience with climate finance – (carbon credit markets/structuring green/blue financial instruments)
Financial modelling and analysis skills – project finance modelling, valuations, funding arrangements
Ability to manage projects from conceptualisation to delivering the final report
Ability to manage and guide teams
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytic skills and attention to detail
Strong work ethic and integrity and high level of professionalism
Experience in presenting analysis and results to clients
This role will require possible travel to clients and FTIs offices

Compensation
Minimum Pay: $149,000
Maximum Pay: $173,000
Compensation Disclosure: The compensation range reflects potential base salary for the role. Actual compensation is determined based on a wide array of relevant factors including market considerations, business needs, and an individual's location, skills, level of experience, and qualifications
