Director, Global Quality, Cross-Product Integration

The Director, Global Quality, Cross-Product Integration (e.g., high tech, healthcare, automotive, aviation and aerospace, or similar), is a globally accountable leadership role responsible for translating cross-product quality strategies into execution across the Expeditors network. Reporting to the Senior Director, Global Quality, this role leads to the development, integration, and operationalization of cross-product quality programs, standards, and compliance frameworks.

This role ensures cross-product quality requirements are embedded into the broader Quality Management System (QMS), operational processes, and governance structures. The Director partners closely with Global Quality, Products, Services, Cross-Product Solutions, Verticals, and regional leadership to drive consistency, certification readiness (e.g., GDP, ISO 13485, TISAX), and sustained performance improvement across all operations.

The role also provides leadership to program and quality team members to ensure effective execution, alignment, and capability development across the network.

Director, Global Quality, Cross-Product Integration Responsibilities

Quality Management System (QMS) Integration

  • Integrate cross-product and vertical quality requirements into the global QMS, including standards, procedures, and controls
  • Ensure alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, GDP, and other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Align with Global Quality leadership to ensure cross-product and vertical quality is embedded into enterprise programs (e.g., CAPA, Assessments, District Excellence)
  • Ensure cross-product quality requirements are practical, adoptable, and scalable across the network

Standards, Compliance & Certification

  • Oversee development, maintenance, and governance of cross-product quality standards and procedures
  • Ensure global compliance with regulatory and industry requirements (e.g., state licensing and WDA)
  • Lead certification readiness activities and ongoing compliance efforts (e.g., GDP, ISO 13485, TISAX)
  • Ensure effective execution and governance of Quality Technical Agreements and other cross-product customer requirements

Deviation Management (CAPA), Audits & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead cross-product quality input into CAPA program execution and governance
  • Oversee cross-product and vertical-related audit readiness, participation, and follow-up activities
  • Ensure timely resolution of findings and sustainable corrective and preventive actions
  • Analyze trends, audit results, and performance data to drive continuous improvement

Risk Management & Operational Performance

  • Lead identification and management of cross-product and vertical quality risks across the network
  • Leverage data, reporting, and analytics to monitor performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Ensure alignment between operational performance, compliance expectations, and customer requirements
  • Support incident investigations and drive preventive, system-level improvements

Leadership, Talent & Capability Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop Global Quality team members
  • Build capability across regions and districts to support compliance and execution (local quality managers)
  • Provide guidance and support to the network in navigating cross-product quality requirements
  • Foster alignment, accountability, and engagement through clear communication and leadership presence

Cross-Functional & Network Partnership

  • Partner with Global Business Operations, Products, Services, Cross-Product Solutions, Verticals, and regional leadership on initiatives
  • Ensure consistent execution of requirements across Products and Services
  • Act as a key liaison between operational teams and quality leadership
  • Support executive reporting, Management Reviews, and stakeholder communications
  • Strong leadership experience in quality, compliance, and/or regulated environments
  • Deep understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and process governance
  • Experience across multiple operational or product verticals (e.g., high tech, healthcare, automotive, aviation and aerospace, or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of operational process standards and quality integration
  • Proven ability to lead programs, drive execution, and influence across a global organization
  • Advanced analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Thrives in dynamic team environments with various cultures and perspectives
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel)
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, as required
