About DayOne
DayOne builds and operates hyperscale data centers across APAC and Europe, backed by US$4.5B in Series C funding. In Singapore, our home market, we hold one of only four permits under Singapore's Pilot DC-CFA and are pioneering Solid Oxide Fuel Cell technology at Jurong East as a proof of concept for hydrogen-based power generation. As the business expands across jurisdictions, Group Reporting becomes one of the most consequential functions in the company. This role leads it.
About the Role
You'll lead Group Reporting across a complex, multi-jurisdictional business, owning consolidated financial statements, technical accounting, and disclosure readiness. This is a senior finance leadership role with direct exposure to auditors, external advisors, and executive leadership. You'll build the reporting function to the highest standard while keeping day-to-day reporting tight across all markets.
Group Reporting and Consolidation
- Lead preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements.
- Own the Group consolidation process including intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation, non-controlling interests, and cash flow statement preparation.
- Strengthen the reporting close calendar and analytical procedures to support accelerated reporting timelines.
- Ensure all financial statements and reporting packages are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
Technical Accounting and Policy
- Provide technical accounting leadership on complex matters across revenue recognition, leases, share-based compensation, business combinations, and consolidation.
- Prepare and review technical accounting memos, position papers, and audit support documentation.
- Maintain and enhance Group accounting policies ensuring consistent application across all entities and jurisdictions.
- Monitor new accounting standards and assess their financial reporting impact on the Group.
Audit, Controls, and Governance
- Act as the primary finance liaison with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Support the design and implementation of robust internal controls over financial reporting.
- Partner with Tax, Treasury, Legal, FP&A, and country finance teams to resolve reporting issues and improve governance.
- Lead remediation of audit findings, control gaps, and reporting process improvements.
Requirements
Technical Skills
- 12 to 15 years of progressive experience in financial reporting, consolidation, audit, and technical accounting across complex multinational groups.
- Strong hands-on GAAP experience — U.S. GAAP and/or IFRS.
- Big 4 audit background and/or prior experience in a fast-growing, multi-jurisdictional business strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of consolidation, internal controls over financial reporting, and audit management.
- CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification. Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Soft Skills
- Communicates complex accounting positions clearly to senior leadership, Audit Committee, Board, and non-finance stakeholders.
- Operates with high discipline in documentation and review quality without losing sight of practical business needs.
- Manages multiple priorities across reporting cycles, audits, and transaction workstreams under tight deadlines.
Nice to Have
- Experience in capital-intensive sectors such as infrastructure, real estate, telecommunications, or technology.
- Familiarity with ERP and reporting systems such as SAP S/4HANA, consolidation tools, and reporting automation platforms.
- Prior exposure to accelerated reporting timelines and Audit Committee reporting.
