Position Summary:

Mentoring Alliance is seeking a Director of After School to lead After School to provide day-to-day leadership for our program staff and to oversee all elements of the After School program. The Mentoring Alliance After School program provides after-school care out of 22 school locations in the East Texas region.

Key Result Areas:

  • Regional Program Oversight: Oversees all aspects of the After School program including budget, registration, program development, evaluations, and evaluation systems in collaboration with the Program Development team.
  • Staff Leadership: Provides day-to-day leadership for After School leaders including recruiting, hiring, developing, disciplining, and terminating when necessary.
  • Program Safety & Compliance: Ensures that the After School program is safe and compliant based on program development, organizational, and licensing standards.
  • Strategic Partnerships/Community Engagement: Builds and maintains relationships with community partners to advance the mission of Mentoring Alliance and staff recruitment. Community partners may include local churches, colleges, universities, school districts, and parents.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in organizational leadership
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written required
  • Group leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, direct and coordinate operations in personnel supervision; the recruitment and retention of key personnel; and budget management.
