Director of Campaigns & Activations
Amex GBT is a place where colleagues find inspiration in travel as a force for good and – through their work – can make an impact on our industry. We’re here to help our colleagues achieve success and offer an inclusive and collaborative culture where your voice is valued.
Amex GBT is seeking a Director of Campaigns & Activations to lead our most ambitious marketing initiatives and drive measurable commercial impact across global sectors. This is a pivotal leadership opportunity where you'll serve as the connective tissue between brand strategy and flawless execution. You'll lead a talented, multi-disciplinary team to design, build, and deliver integrated 360° campaigns that move our brand forward while building the operating systems, processes, and ways of working that enable excellence at scale. If you're motivated by turning strategic ambition into outstanding activations, mobilizing cross-functional teams, and building long-term agency partnerships grounded in mutual respect and shared ambition, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do
- Architect and own the end-to-end campaign operating model — designing the framework that takes campaigns from brief to in-market with clear ownership, defined milestones, and coordinated channel activation.
- Build repeatable program management frameworks that enable the team to run multiple campaigns in parallel without sacrificing quality or speed.
- Lead integrated 360° campaign development across brand, product, customer, performance, and commercial channels, ensuring alignment and momentum at every stage.
- Set the standard for campaign excellence — defining how campaigns are planned, briefed, implemented, measured, and iterated across the organization.
- Lead, inspire, and develop your team — building a culture of accountability, creative ambition, and continuous learning through coaching and active development planning.
- Mobilize cross-functional partners across brand, product, customer, digital, and commercial teams, creating clarity of ownership and shared momentum behind each campaign.
- Serve as the senior relationship lead for agency partners — managing briefs, performance, and long-term partnerships grounded in clarity and mutual respect.
- Own campaign reporting and performance measurement — building a data-informed culture and sharing clear insights with senior stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.
- Champion creative excellence — advocating for bold, effective work while balancing commercial, brand, and compliance requirements.
- Bring operational rigor to budget management, timing, and resourcing — ensuring every campaign delivers maximum return and every resource is accountable.
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience in integrated campaign management or marketing operations — ideally within a global, matrixed organization with multiple product and audience priorities.
- Deep expertise in 360° campaign development — from brand strategy through channel activation across paid, owned, earned, content, events, and digital.
- Proven track record designing operating systems and frameworks that improve both efficiency and quality of output.
- Demonstrated success building and leading agency relationships — including experience in multi-agency environments and consistently delivering high-quality creative output.
- Strong program management capabilities — experienced running multiple high-priority campaigns simultaneously with clarity, discipline, and sound judgment.
- Inclusive, energizing leadership style — someone who brings out the best in people, builds strong team culture, and leads by example.
- Comfortable influencing and aligning stakeholders in matrixed environments without always having direct authority.
- Data-informed decision-maker who uses performance insights to sharpen strategy and demonstrate value.
- Clear, concise communicator who translates complexity into actionable direction across briefs, stakeholder updates, and team meetings.
- Operationally excellent — meticulous, systematic in building processes, and committed to maintaining high standards while keeping the bigger picture in focus.
