D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Director of Construction. The right candidate is responsible for overseeing all phases of construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role will set the standard for safety, quality, and productivity across all job sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the implementation of all construction field policies and procedures

  • Develop and maintain construction schedules, resource allocation plans, and progress reports

  • Communicate consistently with all departments to achieve division goals

  • Oversee field operations, productions times, and ensure quality control so the homes built meet the DR Horton quality standards and are ready for homeowner orientation and occupancy

  • Communicate with employees and subcontractors a consistent level of expectations and direction regarding schedules, construction methods, company policies and procedures, safety standards, quality control and other performance standards

  • Evaluate scopes and performance of all subcontractors and vendors

  • Review and approve project budgets, contracts, change orders, and payment applications

  • Promote an atmosphere of accountability that focuses on quality and customer satisfaction

  • Recognize talent, recruit, retain and motivate a team across all functions required to run a successful division

  • Promote construction team relationships and partnerships with subcontractors , verifying communication and accountability

  • Review customer satisfaction surveys, analyze and identify trends, and implement solutions to improve customer satisfaction scores

  • Drive process to ensure the most cost-effective product. Provide recommendations to reduce costs and increase efficiency

  • Ensure all employees represent D.R. Horton, Inc. and the division professionally to the public and local government offices

  • Monitor relevant changes in the marketplace and react quickly to take advantage of opportunities

  • Oversee safety training to promote safe and efficient construction processes

  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

  • Ability to travel overnight
