Director of Distribution and Logistics, Americas

As the Director, Distribution & Logistics for the Americas at On, you will own the strategy execution, scalability, and performance of logistics operations across our most complex and high-growth region — including the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean. You will play a critical role in building the infrastructure, technology, teams, and partner network that enables rapid, sustainable growth while delivering a premium, customer-centric last mile experience across channels.

This role is about building a world-class, agile, and future-proof logistics network — one that integrates automation, AI-driven insights, and best practices to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and accelerate speed-to-consumer, all while supporting circularity, returns, and re-commerce initiatives. You’ll serve as a key regional leader, working closely with global teams in Zurich and cross-functional stakeholders in Portland, representing the Americas in shaping the next generation of On’s logistics capability.

Your Mission

Strategic Leadership: Co-develop and lead the long-range logistics strategy for the Americas, ensuring it aligns with both regional growth targets and global supply chain ambitions. Build the foundation for 2–3x growth through automation, digitalization, and AI-powered optimization, while maintaining accountability for regional cost targets and overall financial efficiency.

Customer-Centric Execution: Continuously improve the last mile experience by implementing and operating a dynamic multi-carrier network, expanding delivery options, enhancing reliability, and reducing lead times. Balance cost-efficiency with premium service to create a true competitive advantage, ensuring measurable gains in both customer satisfaction and cost-to-serve metrics.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement: Implement lean principles, automation, and continuous improvement programs across the network. Drive UPH, productivity, and cost-per-unit efficiency improvements in line with global and regional benchmarks. Establish best practices to streamline operations, increase agility, and maximize value creation.

Network Design & Optimization: Future-proof the distribution network by strategically placing inventory closer to consumers, leveraging advanced inventory positioning models and AI forecasting tools. Build a multi-node, flexible infrastructure that enhances speed, sustainability, and resilience, while maintaining clear P&L accountability for network cost and performance.

Returns & Recommerce: Co-Develop and scale circular logistics solutions, including returns management, re-commerce programs, and reverse logistics flows, ensuring they are seamless, cost-efficient, and customer-friendly. Design processes that balance customer expectations with optimal cost recovery.

Partner & Vendor Management: Build and manage premium-performing 3PL, and carrier partnerships, ensuring accountability through clear KPIs, automation-enabled visibility

Your Story

- Deep knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes, including demand planning, procurement, logistics, and distribution, returns and circular product lifecycle. Experience working with 3PL partners and last mile transportation carriers is a must.

- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve goals and 8-10+ years direct experience building a team

- 15+ years experience in supply chain or logistics leadership at least 7+ years leading multi-country, multi-node logistics networks in a fast-scaling, multinational CPG or retail environment

- Demonstrated success in developing and executing regional logistics strategy, aligned with commercial growth, digital transformation, and long-term cost/service optimization

- Strong business acumen and experience aligning to a go-to-market calendar and process, with detailed knowledge of omni-channel impacts and requirements into Operational strategies.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels across time zones.

- Track record of influencing global stakeholders and representing regional D&L needs in global forums (e.g., global supply chain councils, systems roadmaps)

- Deep expertise in change leadership, operational excellence, and driving transformation initiatives (e.g., automation, sustainability, control towers)

- Skilled in navigating complex regulatory environments and leading operational risk mitigation across diverse markets (e.g., LATAM, Canada, U.S.)

- Executive presence and communication ability to represent operations in GM-level discussions, global strategy alignment, and major escalations

- Ability to travel 40-50% to support regional scale, vendor leadership, and global alignment
