Director of Facility Operations
You will own the performance, uptime, and efficiency of a portfolio of mining sites. You will travel regularly to sites, balance hands-on field work with strategic oversight, and align site execution with corporate objectives. You will develop and standardize SOPs, lead deployment and ramp-up efforts, diagnose and resolve power and cooling issues, oversee maintenance programs and vendor relationships, analyze site performance data to drive improvements, and recruit and develop site leadership.
Responsibilities
- Own performance, uptime, and efficiency across a portfolio of mining sites
- Hold site leadership accountable for safe, reliable, and high-performing operations
- Maintain regular on-site presence and travel to ensure alignment between strategy and execution
- Build and execute cost structures aligned with financial targets
- Develop, standardize, and continuously improve SOPs across sites
- Drive site deployment and ramp-up efforts with internal teams and external partners
- Identify, diagnose, and lead resolution of power, cooling, and infrastructure issues
- Oversee maintenance programs, vendor relationships, and RFP and contractor selection
- Analyze site-level performance data and implement actionable improvements
- Recruit, develop, and manage performance of site leadership
- Reinforce continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence
Requirements
- 3-7 years of experience leading operational teams in a geographically dispersed environment
- Experience in mining operations, data center operations, or large-scale infrastructure environments is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Industrial Science, or related field preferred or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of power infrastructure, cooling systems, and uptime-critical operations preferred
- Hands-on leadership style with ability to balance collaboration and accountability
- Comfortable operating in 24x7 environments and responding to real-time operational challenges
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on occasion and spend extended periods on your feet
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to mining sites (30%-40%)
- Must possess an active passport for travel outside the U.S.
- Must possess and maintain an active driver’s license
- Preferred experience: site selection, construction and deployment, facilities management, contract negotiation, strategic planning, CAPEX/OPEX budgeting, P&L accountability, vendor management, international operations, and project ROI
