POSITION SPECIFICS
Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, a Division 1 and Big Ten Conference Institution, is seeking a Director of Hockey Operations (Director of Operations 2) for the Men’s Ice Hockey program under the general supervision of the Head Coach. This is a non-coaching position which will coordinate the operational aspects of the Men’s Ice Hockey program through responsibility of the following:
- Oversee and manage the budget, which includes considerations of revenue sharing, scholarship amounts, and payments pertaining to Name Image and Likeness programs.
- Coordinate with the Pegula Staff and Morgan Academic Center staff regarding all scheduling needs for athletes and facilities
- Hire and manage student managers
- Work with the Hockey Equipment Manager regarding budgets and contracts related to apparel and equipment
- Coordinate camps
- Events management, schedule non-conference and tournament games, act as a liaison to conference and other departments within Penn State Athletics including the Office of Compliance
- Compile team related stats
- Plan, coordinate, and execute year-long travel plans; handle the arrangement of team practice scheduling
- Coordinate team community service activities
- Assist with the coordination of official and unofficial visits, support recruiting efforts wherever necessary
- Organize all aspects of video content from practices and games; provide analytics and analysis of the information captured from video; provide coaches and athletes with clips and other information as needed to fully utilize video package; familiarity in computer programming and with Catapult is desirable
- Assist with alumni relations, development, and the Friends of Penn State Men’s Hockey, as needed, and directed by the head coach
MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
If filled as Athletic Operations Specialist - Senior Professional, this position requires:
Bachelor's Degree
6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
Required Certifications:

If filled as Athletic Operations Specialist - Advanced Professional, this position requires:
Bachelor's Degree
3+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted

BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCES
This position requires the following clearances in addition to applicable background checks: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $56,200.00 - $89,600.00.
