Director of Revenue
The Director of Revenue is responsible for maximizing the hotel's financial performance through strategic pricing, revenue optimization, and distribution management. Reporting to the General Manager, this role drives revenue growth by analyzing market trends, forecasting demand, and implementing effective yield strategies across all revenue-generating segments.
Working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations, the Director of Revenue ensures a balanced approach to pricing, positioning, and inventory control, maintaining the hotel's competitive edge within the luxury hospitality market.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute comprehensive revenue management strategies that align with the hotel's financial objectives and market positioning
- Analyze competitive landscape, market dynamics, and consumer behavior to identify revenue optimization opportunities and inform strategic decision-making
- Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), including RevPAR, ADR, occupancy rates, and revenue targets across all segments
- Prepare detailed financial forecasts, budgets, and revenue projections using advanced analytical tools and historical data
- Lead and mentor the revenue management team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
- Oversee the implementation and optimization of Revenue Management Systems (RMS), Property Management Systems (PMS), and other technology platforms to enhance operational efficiency
- Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing teams to align pricing strategies with promotional campaigns and market positioning initiatives
- Conduct regular competitive analysis and market intelligence gathering to maintain awareness of industry trends and competitor positioning
- Present revenue performance reports and strategic recommendations to senior management and stakeholders on a regular basis
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field is required. A master’s degree or professional certification in Revenue Management or a related discipline will be an advantage.
- Experience: A strong background in revenue management and hotel operations is essential. Candidates should have 5–7 years of progressive experience in Revenue Management, preferably within luxury hotels or international chains. Exposure to other operational functions such as Front Office, Sales, or Reservations will be an added advantage.
- Revenue Management Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in revenue management strategies, including pricing optimization, demand forecasting, and inventory control, is required. Candidates should have a proven track record of implementing effective revenue strategies and consistently achieving revenue targets in a luxury hospitality environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Revenue Management Systems (RMS), Property Management Systems (PMS), and Central Reservation Systems (CRS) is essential. Strong analytical skills with advanced knowledge of Excel and experience in data analysis, reporting tools, and business intelligence platforms are highly valued.
- Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the luxury hospitality market, including competitive dynamics, guest expectations, and industry trends, is important. Familiarity with best practices and market positioning within the luxury segment is required.
- Adaptability and Resilience: Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role requires adaptability, resilience, and the capability to respond proactively to market changes, evolving consumer behavior, and emerging industry trends.
