Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Director of Surgical Services, RN, you will lead the strategic direction and operational oversight of all nursing services within our General Surgery department. This pivotal healthcare leadership role focuses on driving exceptional patient care outcomes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement. You will serve as a key advisor on nursing best practices and departmental strategies, impacting patient safety and clinical excellence across the organization.

Every day you will be responsible for setting and evaluating nursing care standards and protocols, meticulously investigating and resolving patient care concerns, and leading initiatives that enhance overall quality. You will strategically manage the full lifecycle of our nursing talent, from recruitment and retention to identifying and facilitating professional development opportunities for your team. Additionally, you'll act as a primary clinical resource and expert, providing essential guidance and support in complex patient care situations.

To be successful in this role, you will be a highly skilled and experienced registered nurse with proven expertise in both advanced clinical practice and administrative leadership. Your ability to mentor staff, foster a positive work environment, and act as an ambassador for nursing will be critical. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills for quality assurance, a commitment to staff development, and a deep understanding of effective healthcare leadership to drive optimal patient outcomes in a dynamic surgical setting.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors of Science- Nursing or equivalent education and experience, and
  • Masters degree- Nursing or other related field MSN/MBA/MHA
  • Three (3) years of nursing experience
  • Two (2) years of leadership experience
  • Registered Nurse: AZ RN
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)- American Heart Association
