Job Responsibilities

The Director of Planning & Analysis is responsible for the organization and reporting of all financial planning, projects, and analysis. Responsible for planning and directing the organization's strategic and long-range goals. Conducts organizational reviews to identify strengths and weaknesses and to evaluate financial effectiveness. This position is Shared Services and has responsibilities at Resorts World New York City, Resorts World Catskills, and Resorts World Hudson Valley. This position requires appropriate licensing for all properties to be obtained and maintained.

License Level: This is a Gaming level position that is responsible for the organization and reporting of all financial planning, projects, and analysis.

Essential Duties/Core Competencies

  • Provides the executive team with up-to-date research on all financial analysis.
  • Develops financial strategies of operations in accordance with Company objectives and regulatory agencies.
  • As directed, works with the Finance Department, institutions, and legal counsel. Accountants, other professionals, and executive management.
  • Identifies and manages the changes needed to support the new financial plan.
  • Establish meaningful reports and analytics that support the needs of internal executives and external shareholders.
  • Manages company-wide data requests efficiently.
  • Provides timely and accurate Forecast, and Month End Actual reports.
  • Implements standardized reporting to increase accountability and improve process flow and output.
  • Provides accurate and timely analytics, reports, and insightful observations to managers and executives to increase cost management efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collaborates with functional leaders to standardize monthly financial reviews and establish a more comprehensive forecasting and budgeting process.
  • Provides decks and analyses as required.
  • Provides financial and analytical support to all projects, reports, and tracking to ensure all committed synergies are implemented and realized.
  • Coordinates with the stakeholders to identify process changes in financial planning and analysis, revenue and cost accounting, data requirements and data capture for more useful business analysis and decision making.
  • Ensures effective recruitment, hiring, training, recognition, coaching and counseling and other personnel related matters are being handled appropriately throughout assigned departments.
  • Facilitates and ensures that performance reviews of all employees within the department are complete on a yearly basis.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.

  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with staff and superiors.
  • Strong supervisory and communication skills
  • Must have working ability with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Work Experience/Educational Experience

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have the ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the applicable statute, rules and regulations.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field AND three (3) years’ experience in a management position
    • OR Seven (7) years’ experience in a management position
    • OR Five (5) years’ experience in a Management position within any Resorts World Property
  • Eight (8) years of related work experience.

Pay Transparency: $131,330 - 200,000

The Team Member is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The Team Member is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Essential responsibilities include moderate physical ability such as lifting or maneuvering at least thirty (30) pounds, and prolonged sitting during the shift.

Language skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals and other related documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries from other Team Members or guests. Fluency in English required. Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Mathematical Skills & Reasoning Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to decipher various reports and maintain reports upon request. The ability to analyze situations and make decisions is a fast-paced environment.

The noise level in the work environment varies. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases too loud. When on the casino floor or other designated areas may be subjected to tobacco smoke. Must be able to handle intoxicated guests in a professional manner.
