Join VELUX in a key leadership role as Director Real Estate and Facility Services - Production Europe (m/f/d), with responsibility for driving operational excellence across the PCO organization in Europe. Depending on your location, the position can be based in Poland (Warsaw, Gniezno or Namysłów), Hungary (Budapest or Fertőd), or the Czech Republic (Brno or Vyškov).
In this role, you will lead and oversee all aspects of our European facility operations, workplace services, and strategic vendor management in Central Eastern Europe, Germany and France. This is an exciting challenge that requires you to leverage your experience in global leadership, and in driving strategy and operational excellence across multiple production locations. Meet your future team:
You will be heading an experienced international team of approximately 100 professionals and 8 direct reports responsible for shaping and delivering operational and strategic Real Estate, Facilities, and Project Management initiatives across the region.
Just as importantly, you will join the leadership team of the Global Real Estate & Facility Services organization. Under the direction of the Senior Director, and together with your 3 leadership colleagues, you will develop and implement the overall operating model and strategy for the entire VELUX organization. Working closely with local business leaders and key stakeholders, you will play a key role in optimizing our facility operations.

- Lead, coach, and develop a team of leaders and employees, fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, and high performance.
- Define and execute the strategic direction of facility services for our production sites, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational priorities.
- Ensure the alignment of efficient, high-quality facility operations through best practices, process optimization, and evolving service solutions across all sites.
- Manage facility services budgets in partnership with Finance, identifying cost-efficiency opportunities while maintaining service standards.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and operational requirements, proactively managing risks and business continuity.
- Drive innovation, technology adoption, and smart building initiatives to improve operational efficiency, sustainability, and user experience.
- Monitor and report on service performance, providing insights, recommendations, and updates to senior leadership.
Your Profile
We’re looking for an experienced leader with a strong background in facility management, operations, or a related field, who combines strategic thinking with an ability to secure hands-on execution. If you’re a strong communicator with a passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and making an impact at scale, you’ll thrive in this role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Significant senior leadership experience, ideally within global manufacturing, production, or facility operations environments.
- Proven expertise in facility management, service delivery, operational excellence, and continuous improvement – both operationally and strategically.
- Solid understanding of integrated facility management models and industry best practices, as well as knowledge of emerging workplace technologies, industry trends, and innovative facility management solutions.
- Strong international stakeholder management, communication, and execution capabilities, combined with a grasp of relevant KPI and SLA structures
- Strategic mindset combined with a hands-on, results-oriented approach to execution.
- Business fluent in written and spoken English and ability to travel internationally for business 20-30% of the time.
