Director Software Engineering - AI Based Country Solutions Platform

We're looking for an experienced and visionary Director of Software Engineering to lead our AI-based Country Solutions Platform team in India. In this strategic leadership role, you will oversee the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge AI-driven solutions tailored for diverse country-specific markets. You will drive technical excellence, foster innovation, and build high-performing engineering teams while ensuring our platform scales efficiently across multiple regions and geographies.

Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, architects, and technical specialists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Define and execute the technical vision and roadmap for the AI-based Country Solutions Platform, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Interface with country solution representatives in organising the work
Regularly interface with compliance partners regarding compliance and regulatory work
Architect scalable, secure, and efficient solutions that support multi-country deployments with localization and customization capabilities
Oversee the design and implementation of AI/ML models and algorithms that drive platform functionality and competitive advantage
Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes across all engineering teams
Collaborate with product, business, and stakeholder teams to translate requirements into technical specifications and delivery timelines
Manage platform infrastructure, cloud resources, and DevOps practices to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
Drive the adoption of modern development methodologies, including Agile practices and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
Conduct performance reviews, identify skill gaps, and develop talent within the organization through coaching and professional development opportunities
Analyze technical challenges, evaluate emerging technologies, and make data-driven decisions to enhance platform capabilities
Ensure compliance with security, data privacy, and regulatory requirements across all country-specific implementations

10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a proven track record of designing and delivering enterprise-scale solutions
5+ years of experience in software engineering leadership or management roles, including team building and talent development
Deep expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies, frameworks, and best practices
Strong proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform) and distributed systems architecture
Demonstrated experience building and scaling SaaS platforms or country-specific solutions with multi-region deployment capabilities
Expert-level knowledge of microservices architecture, API design, and modern software design patterns
Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks relevant to AI/ML development
Strong understanding of DevOps practices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code principles
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make strategic technical decisions
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and drive organizational alignment
Experience with Agile methodologies and iterative development processes
Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines

**Preferred Qualifications:**

Experience with multi-region or multi-country software deployments and localization/internationalization practices
Background in finance, tax and invoicing will be prefered
Must have the experience to deliver under tight deadlines around regulatory mandates
Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in the developer community
Experience with AI model deployment, monitoring, and optimization in production environments
Knowledge of emerging AI technologies and industry trends
