Director, Solutions Design APAC

  • Contribute to and shape the solutions design strategy, aligning with business objectives, market trends, product development, and Group policies.
  • Evaluate business risks and translate bid strategies and customer requirements into actionable solution plans, particularly for complex, high-value tenders.
  • Lead a functional workstream to establish standards, enhance capabilities, and drive knowledge sharing across the region.
  • Prioritize and manage pipeline activities including bids, renewals, and operational requests, ensuring optimal resource allocation.
  • Partner with Business Development teams and customers to manage expectations, resolve exceptions, and track bid success and solution performance.
  • Champion the adoption and continuous improvement of global tools within the Centre of Excellence (COE) / SME community.
  • Ensure high-quality solutions through consistent application of global tools, cost models, and methodologies; advise on high-risk engagements.
  • Drive innovation in solution design, aligned to evolving product and customer needs.
  • Establish and implement best-in-class design standards, processes, and tools (e.g. cost and process models).
  • Lead the Solutions Design COE, including reporting, KPI management, and governance across the APAC community.
  • Champion capability development by identifying skill gaps and driving training and resource allocation for solution designers.
  • Gather stakeholder feedback to continuously improve design quality, processes, and systems.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external partners to deliver complex, integrated solutions.
  • Oversee the CoE for reporting and KPI management across the APAC Solutions Design community.


Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customer stakeholders to support successful delivery from concept through implementation.
  • Influence and collaborate with senior leaders across functions to drive alignment on practices and approaches.
  • Partner with country leaders on workforce planning, capability building, and training priorities.
  • Establish trusted relationships across DHL functions (IT, HR, Finance, Sales/BD) and broader teams.
  • Coordinate effectively with third-party providers and external partners.
  • Lead or support negotiations with customers and internal stakeholders where required.

People Management

  • Lead a department or business unit comprising multiple teams managed by Team Leaders or Managers.
  • Oversee onboarding, offboarding, and performance management in line with DHL Supply Chain policies and standards.
