Director - Technical Program Management

Job Summary:

As a Director – Technical Program Manager, you will lead large-scale, cross-functional technical programs that are critical to JioStar's product and engineering roadmap. You will partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Business leaders to drive execution, align priorities, mitigate risks, and ensure predictable delivery of complex initiatives.

You will own end-to-end program execution, influence technical and business decisions, establish scalable program management practices, and foster collaboration across multiple teams. Your ability to balance strategic thinking with operational excellence will be key to delivering impactful outcomes.

About The Team:

JioHotstar is building the advertising platform that will power commerce-led advertising across some of India’s largest digital consumer businesses.This team sits at the intersection of AdTech, e-commerce, data, and monetisation. The goal is to help retail platforms unlock high-intent advertising inventory across the full shopping journey - home pages, category pages, product detail pages, cart, order confirmation flows, and personalised placements - while giving advertisers measurable outcomes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the planning and execution of complex cross-functional technical programs spanning multiple Product and Engineering teams.

  • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business leaders to define program goals, execution plans, milestones, and success metrics.

  • Drive roadmap alignment and ensure timely execution of strategic initiatives while balancing competing priorities.

  • Identify technical and program risks early, drive mitigation plans, and communicate progress effectively to stakeholders.

  • Facilitate decision-making across teams by bringing clarity to technical and business trade-offs.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to understand technical architecture, dependencies, and implementation challenges.

  • Build strong relationships across the organization and influence without direct authority.

  • Establish and continuously improve program management processes, governance models, and operational best practices.

  • Track execution using measurable metrics and provide regular updates to senior leadership.

  • Mentor and coach Technical Program Managers while promoting operational excellence across the organization.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:

  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, distributed systems, cloud technologies, and modern engineering practices.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex technical programs simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders and driving alignment across Product, Engineering, Design, and Business teams.

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand system architecture, technical risks, and engineering trade-offs.

  • Excellent program planning, execution, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Demonstrated experience driving large-scale initiatives from conception through successful delivery.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a structured approach to execution.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor's/Master’s degree with a minimum of 16 years of experience, including 10 years in a Program Management role within the consumer technology sector
