Director - ThinCats healthcare
We are hiring a Director to join ThinCats Healthcare, part of Shawbrook Bank, to originate and deliver lending transactions across the UK healthcare sector.
This is a front-office, origination-led role with a clear mandate to build a high-quality pipeline, win new business and execute transactions supporting fast-growing healthcare companies.
You will play a key role in scaling a high-growth healthcare franchise, backed by Shawbrook’s balance sheet and supported by a highly collaborative internal team.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate and win new business across the UK healthcare sector (care homes, specialist care, dental, pharmacy, healthcare services)
- Build and convert a strong pipeline of acquisition and growth lending opportunities
- Act as a trusted funding partner to entrepreneurs, operators, advisors and investors
- Structure and deliver cashflow-based lending transactions (typically £1m–£10m+ EBITDA businesses)
- Lead deals end-to-end from initial engagement through to credit approval and completion
- Work closely with internal teams (Credit, Risk, Portfolio, Legal) to drive deals through at pace
- Contribute to building the ThinCats Healthcare brand and market presence
What we’re looking for
Core profile
- Healthcare sector expertise – strong understanding of UK healthcare markets, business models and regulatory environment
- Proven origination track record – demonstrable experience generating and converting deal flow
- Established network – relationships across healthcare operators, advisors and/or investors
- Deal leadership experience – track record of leading transactions end-to-end
Capabilities
- Strong credit judgement with experience in cashflow lending and downside risk assessment
- Clear commercial instinct – able to structure and price deals competitively while protecting returns
- Ability to operate at pace, manage multiple transactions and deliver outcomes
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally

Ideal candidate (in one line)
A healthcare-focused origination dealmaker with a strong network and track record of delivering lower to mid-market transactions between £5m to £35m, looking to build a leading position within a growing platform.
- Degree
- Proven experience in financial services, including proven experience in senior corporate healthcare cashflow debt transactions.
