Summary:
The Dispatcher is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the logistical operations of all CDL trucks for cost effective and efficient resource allocation to ensure field operations are functioning at maximum capacity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create daily work schedules for crews, equipment to appropriate locations, according to predetermined schedules, customer requests or immediate needs,
  • Coordinate with field supervisors to ensure smooth workflow,
  • Maintain open communication with field crews via phone, email or text messages,
  • Coordinate the delivery and movement of construction materials and equipment to job sites,
  • Technology skills, particularly in transportation management software, personnel,
  • Knowledge of trucking regulations and DOT regulations and laws,
  • Speak with supervisors or customers to handle requests for services,
  • Prepare work orders for crew or receiving work orders from work crews,
  • Relay information from management to field crews and safety notices,
  • May be required to work extended hours including evenings, nights, and weekends and with little notice,
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old,
  • Must have a GED or high school diploma,
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred,
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years of dispatching experience or related experience preferably in the construction industry,
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team,
  • Excellent communication skills,
  • Excellent clerical and organizational skills to keep track of schedules, routes and personnel,
  • Knowledge of computers for scheduling and other dispatching duties,
  • Ability to multitask with different, and sometimes conflicting, events happening at the same time,
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and be able to diffuse rapidly changing situations,
  • Ability to relay information in a fast-paced environment,
  • Must be able to successfully pass a background and drug screening.

Note: This is an on-site position and requires the ability to work in the office during standard business hours. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available for this role.

Note: This position is considered Safety-Sensitive, and therefore subject to various schedule and unscheduled screenings for controlled substances.
