Disposal Specialist (Temporary)

PRI is seeking a Disposal Specialist for our Surge Team to close out and disposition equipment and material from one location to another. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>The Disposal Specialist will\nprovide services and support to the NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center\ncontract located at Edwards AFB, California and Palmdale, California. <\/span><\/span>The Disposal\nSpecialist will perform duties primarily associated with\nSCA Labor Category <\/span><\/span>Material Coordinator<\/span><\/span><\/i> from the <\/span><\/span>SCA Directory of\nOccupations 5<\/span><\/span>th<\/span><\/span><\/sup> edition<\/span><\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>

SURGE POSITION: Position\nauthorized on a monthly basis by NASA. Anticipated length of service is 4\-6 months.<\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span>Duties include but are not limited to:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

  • Provide industrial and administrative support in\naccordance with Performance Work<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>Statement\n(PWS) section 10.1, Closeout of aircraft programs at B703, section 10.2, B703\nWarehousing, section 10.7, Disposal Operations, and section 10.8, Property\nDisposal Processing in accordance with NASA Instructions and Technical\nDirectives<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
    <\/li><\/ul>
    • Perform\ndisposal operations on all SOFIA and DC8 closeout materials and equipment at\nNASA AFRC locations. Inventory to identify/verify all SOFIA and DC8 supplies,\nmaterials and equipment that will be disposed of on site at B703 or relocated\nto the main AFRC campus at Edwards<\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Process\nand complete the disposition of all SOFIA and DC8 assets, supplies, materials,\nand equipment on site that are not transferred to the main AFRC campus at\nEdwards in coordination with the Property Disposal Officer (PDO)<\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Prepare\naircraft part NAMIS assets to be transported to AFRC\u2019s main campus in a manner\nto maintain accountability and locations correctly in NAMIS<\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Assist\nin construction of storage racks if needed<\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/li>
    • Verify\nall parts have correct and legible tags and quality and traceability documents\nper NPR 4100.1F, AFOP 4100.1\-001, AFOP 7900.3\-005<\/span><\/span><\/span>
      <\/li><\/ul><\/blockquote>
      • Receive training in all aspects disposal\noperations in accordance with NASA, GSA, and other Federal regulations and\nsystems<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Utilize NASA provided computer equipment and\nsoftware/databases to perform required job duties<\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Be familiar with NASA publications, forms, and\nregulations listed in the PWS and how all work activities are performed in\naccordance with those references.<\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • Direct materiel management activities involved\nin developing, operating, implementing, and analyzing manual and automated\nintegrated logistics systems.<\/span><\/span>
        <\/li>
      • May be tasked, trained, and perform duties as a\nnon\-CDL Truck Driver or Material Handling Equipment operator, including\noperating: Medium Trucks, Forklifts, and Specialty Material Handling Equipment<\/span><\/span>

        Requirements<\/h3>
        • Experience working in a warehouse or other industrial environment and/or experience with driving trucks and/or other non\-CDL required vehicles<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
        • Experience in using computers as part of a military or civilian retail / store / warehouse environment<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
        • Must pass NASA forklift training and certification and pass NASA physical to receive forklift license<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
        • Ability to obtain and retain a Secret security clearance<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
        • Must be able to clearly read, write, speak, and comprehend English<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
        • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and via email<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
        • Must have current state driver\u2019s licenses to operate materiel handling equipment and up to a medium duty, non\-Commercial Driver\u2019s License required, truck<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
        • Clean driving record<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
        • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
        • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position including being on your feet most of the day and lifting requirements<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
          <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/li>
        • Ability to be trained in the use of warehouse tools and manual material handling equipment<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>
